Biography
Produced by frontman Art Alexakis and mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Rage Against The Machine), So Much For The Afterglow kicks hard with a melodic punk edge. The record maintains Everclear's trademark sound, while at the same time Alexakis and company have incorporated a variety of new instrumentation including organ, banjo, toy pianos, a three-piece horn section, keyboards, cello, violin and slide guitar. The Iyncs are as passionate as ever. Basic tracks were recorded at Whitehorse Studios in Portland and Rondor Studios in Los Angeles. All songs were mixed at Saylor Sound Recording in Hollywood.

So Much For The Afterglow is the long awaited follow-up to Everclear's Platinum-plus breakthrough Sparkle & Fade, which was released in May of '95. The album's 13 tracks were composed by Art Alexakis and his bandmates, Greg Eklund (drums) and Craig Montoya (bass). All lyrics were wntten by Alexakis. The first single will be "Everything to Everyone." Other key tracks include the title song with its surprising harmonic intro, and the infectious high speed "Amphetamine," which folds into a violin and cello outro.

As Sparkle & Fade was more personal, intense and adventurous than its predecessor World of Noise, So Much For The Afterglow again takes another leap.
