Gathering.
Recorded at Testament's own 32 track Driftwood studios, the band had
the "no time pressure" luxury of countless studio hours smithing their next burnt
offering.
Enlisting the all-star support of metal household names, Dave Lombardo (Slayer,
Grip Inc.) on drums, and veteran bassist, Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus), the Peterson
crafted rhythms pound through bone jarring accents and angular meter changes.
Reuniting with longtime friend, lead guitarist, James Murphy, slices through the
grooves with a few signature solos. Eric Peterson lays the foundational guitar riffs
and digs still deeper into his vault of anthemic lead licks for several choice solos
as well. Chuck Billy, never to be predictable, blends a wide-ranging palate of vocal
stylings from extreme death to active rock melodic. Meanwhile, he also blends his
lyrical skills with occasional writer Del James (Guns & Roses). The Gathering is an
exceptionally strong descendent to the critically acclaimed, #1 metal radio album,
Demonic, and hints at some crossover potential in the track "True Believer". The
fans, new and tried and true, will be somewhat surprised but definitely not
disappointed.
