Tom Hanks As Deep Throat?

antiTainment reports: The dust has just barely began to settle after former number two man at the FBI W. Mark Felt was identified as Deep Throat, the insider that leaked information to Washington Posts writers Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein about the Watergate cover-up. Now it appears that Felt has sold the rights to his life story to Universal Pictures, with Tom Hanks reportedly signed on to produce and possibly star in the film.
The film will be based on Felt's upcoming book, "A G-Man's Life: The FBI, Being 'Deep Throat' and the Struggle for Honor in Washington." Hopefully the film will have a shorter title, but Deep Throat is already taken. Hanks' production company Playtone Productions are set to produce the feature according to Varity.

antiTainment reports: Darth Vader met his match this weekend in the form of an animated lion and Adam Sandler. "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," was bumped from the top of the box office into third place behind "Madagascar" and "The Longest Yard".
"Madagascar" became king of the box office jungle this week after bringing in estimated ticket sales of $28.7 million. Adam Sandler's remake of the 1974 football/prison hit "The Longest Yard" landed in second place with an estimated gross of $26.1 million, just beating out "Sith" which had an estimated $26 million haul this weekend.

AP reports: House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is upset that a popular NBC crime drama used his name as part of its show.
DeLay wrote NBC to complain that one of the characters on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" invoked his name in a story line about the shooting death of a federal judge. "Maybe we should put out an APB for somebody in a Tom DeLay T-shirt," the fictional police officer said.
DeLay, in a letter to NBC Universal Television chief Jeff Zucker, called that reference a "slur."

Reuters reports: Federal law enforcement officers continued their crackdown on illegal copyright piracy as the U.S. departments of Justice and Homeland Security announced the first-ever criminal-enforcement action against BitTorrent network users Wednesday.
Agents of the FBI and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) executed 10 search warrants throughout the U.S. against leading members of a sophisticated peer-to-peer network known as Elite Torrents. Federal agents also took control of the main server that coordinated all file-sharing activity on the Elite Torrents network.

AP reports: The director of a TV art auction program was arrested Wednesday and charged with receiving and distributing child pornography over the Internet, federal officials said.
Anthony Logan, 62, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents early Wednesday at an apartment in the city's Van Nuys area after an extensive child pornography sting, according to a statement from ICE. He was arraigned later in the day, said spokeswoman Lori Haley.
