Bob Guiney - 3 Sides
by Linda Spielman

Bob Guiney - 3 Sides
Label: Wind-Up
Rating:

You may say to yourself, "man that name sounds familiar". For fans of Reality TV will recognize the name as the most recent Bachelor. Although his relationship may not have weathered the test of time like Trista & Ryan, Guiney may just have a promising career as a singer, songwriter.

With his debut CD entitled "3 Sides" Guiney and his band show great promises of strong song writing and ensemble musicianship. A combination of Matchbox Twenty, John Mayer, Sister Hazel & Vertical Horizon inspired and flavored tracks of this full length CD.

It’s OK, to be skeptical on the release of the CD to coincide with the publicity of the show. However, if you were blindly handed this CD without knowing who it was and listened, you’d be pleasantly surprised with the CD.

i love it.. i met bob before and he is a very sweet man. he will sit and talk to his fans no matter how long the line is for autographs. i love his cd. bought it the day it came out and i listen to it all the time. he is so hot

Posted by Chula:
I love the CD. He has a sincere, genuine voice. But his following seems to be 25-40 year old women who google over him. Women - he is NOT hot! He needs to expand to a larger audience, both male and female, or his fame will be short lived. I do wish him the best in the future. He seems to be very hardworking and determined, and you cannot fault him for that.

I'm from the Michigan area, so I'm well familiar with Fat Amy, and even have their indie debut CD. Bob's got talent, but it was a bit of a strange move in my opinion to use for your first single a very recent song by another band, July for Kings. Bob's version is much lighter and more syrupy, and while I like the style, the lyrics were butchered in some spots so as to verge on incoherency, and the song as a whole is missing the passion and intensity of the original. Some remakes have been great (think Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm or Baker Street by Foo Fighters, this one was merely a decent cover.

I love his CD, every song, Bob you rock!

Posted by hey you, over there.:
This album is a joke! Not one track is an original - not one! Seems like Guiney quickly ran into the studio, borrowed some tunes and slapped his name on it.

I wrote in my last post that I hoped to meet Bob one day. I went to the Michigan State concert last night. I met him and I want you all to know he is fantastic! His singing is great! More importantly, he is very real, very friendly and is just an all-around wonderful person!

I got the CD on a whim, just wanted to see what it was like...it has become my favorite CD. I listen to it in my car as I drive around to my appointments. Bob has a very refreshing way of singing...he doesn't strain his voice, he is very relaxed. He is a natural. I went out and bought his book yesterday, I read it last night. Easy read. I was impressed by how open he is and how loving he seems to be to his family and friends. I'd like to meet him one day.

I listen to it all the time and am actually going to get a chance to hear it in person, bachelor bob in Minnesota how exciting.

Posted by Tanya Durant:
Fantastic. I too was a little skeptical initially, but absolutely love it...shame about Estella though, she was really nice. Good luck to Bob !! I might just be the first Aussie to buy his CD !! Bob's book is also great. Good read, read it in 1 day.

When I saw Bob on the first show I thought he was great. I even voted for him to be the next Bachlor. When I saw the way he treated women and how delicate he was I was pleased. An now that I not only bought his CD and hear it everyday because it is great and the songs have meaning.I also bought and read his book. Now I'm in love with a man that I have never met. And to top it all of the man is HOT!

Posted by peanut:
Honestly, I was skeptical at first that it will all be a Trash..surprise !Surprise! Boy , he could siiing! Please take note of the guitarist/accoustic background..whoever it was..deserves the nod..

Posted by jrprburch:
The CD is great. Not really like most CD's where there is only 2-3 songs that are good. Bob and his band did a great job.

Posted by Skinny Amy:
I don't think he will make it as a musician, long-term. He is a flash in the pan...only because of the show. Everyone I know thinks he used the show, and the poor girl, for his "music career". That's pretty low-down!! Who cares about the show....but he broke someone's heart for fame.

Posted by Dee:
Great! I didn't think he was so hot on the first bachelor but he definalty spiced it up on the second time around! I love the CD!!! He's so sweet!

Posted by Franca:
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!!

Posted by J.C.:
PLEEAASE! The only reason this is even selling is because of the tv show. Talk about recycled music!!

Posted by Bronson:
I'm very pleasantly surprised. I had heard that he fronted the Midwest college Band "Fat Amy" when he was in College, but when I heard this I decided to buy it, in spite of the Bachelor tie in. I'd prefer he remained famous as a musician rather than a TV reality personality. Beleive it or not, he has quite a bit of talent.

Posted by Diarrhea:
I had to take a dump, so I grabbed this CD and I defacated on it.

Posted by RCHS Robby:
Bob's always been good at whatever he does, so I wasn't surprised when I spun his disc for the first time. 3.8 out of 5 stars.

Posted by Julie:
I LOVE it. Girlfriend Rocks.

Posted by mrs. tibbs:
Yeah I actually didn't think it would be very good but i like it! I guess he actually is a musician not just a wannabee...

Posted by CHICKA:
Bob ROCKS...his new album is SO GOOD. I saw him live a week ago and he sounded even better than on the CD!

Posted by jones:
I checked out his site out of curiousity not expecting anything special, but 3 Sides is very impressive. I picked up the album a few weeks ago, and the songwriting is strong, and the musicianship is excellent. I definitely recommend it if you're into singer/songwriters.
