"I'm putting my involvement on hold right now because we're trying to figure out some things," Singleton told XXL. "I got a script and I got the blessings from his family. We'll see. We've got to get it right." He continued: "I think the picture is not going to be good unless it's offensive to some people. When I'm making my movies, John Singleton movies, it's really just my voice. So I can't be listening to all the other suggestions of all these other people and s-t." Read more here.
In it, the rapper appears on stage and says "Free Weezy coming soon, Carter V coming soon," before announcing, "f- Cash Money," dropping the mic and walking off stage. For a while Wayne has been teasing a Free Weezy mixtape or album, so this is a strong indicator that we should continue to expect it. This also may be an indicator that Lil Wayne has been able to free Carter V from label purgatory, and finally release it despite his ongoing lawsuit with Cash Money. Read more here.
Dressed in black, Jepsen kicked things off with her latest single "I Really Like You," sans Hanks unfortunately. Looking a bit more mature since her "Call Me Maybe" days, Jepsen played it coy for the live performance where she makes it clear, she really, really, really, really, really wants you. Do you want her too? We sure do! Jepsen debuted a new song called "All That" with help from producer Ariel Rechstaid on bass and Dev Hynes on guitar, who, she told Radio.com in a recent interview made her sound like "old school Madonna." This track, which she called "My heart song of the album" on Twitter, has a bit of a '80s feel that the Material Girl could appreciate. "Just let me in your arms," she sings sweetly. "Show me if you want me, if I'm all that." Jepsen has never sounded more mature. Anyone who wasn't calling her before is definitely calling her now. Watch the performances here.
Steve Gorman: "You're playing little league as a kid. How long did you play and when did you realize maybe you weren't cut out to be an athlete full time?" Osborne: "Well, I always knew I wasn't cut out to be full time, but I liked playing up until I was in junior high school - maybe 8th or 9th grade, and I really started hating the people I was playing with, so I walked away from all of it." Gorman: "You know what, that will happen. Sometimes the problem with sports is the guys playing them." Osborne: "Yes, I couldn't stand it and even to this day, I can't stand listening to I really only like baseball but if you had tickets to any professional sporting event I would go, you know, but I really only follow baseball. I cannot listen to those guys get interviewed, I shut it off. I cannot stand listening to jocks talk." Gorman: "But now you're writing a Dodgers preview for Rolling Stone magazine. How did you get roped into that?" Osborne: "They wanted me to do it, there's a guy over there that likes me and somehow knew I had an interest in baseball, and I have a huge interest, I mean I'm certainly no expert, but I'm a fan, I'm a huge fan and I always feel like I have more to learn." Gorman: "Well we need a rock major league baseball correspondent to be on the show on a regular basis if you got a little extra time during the season." Osborne: "Oh, I'm all over it. You wouldn't believe how few people me and Dale find on the road that want to talk about baseball" ***laughs*** Listen here.

In a new interview with Grantland, 2 Fast director John Singleton expands on why Ja Rule passed on the second Fast film. "Ja got too big for himself. He turned it down. He turned down a half a million dollars," Singleton said. "He got 15 grand to be in the first movie. He was really big at that time. I guess Murder Inc. was throwing out hits and were making money hand over foot. He was acting like he was too big to be in the sequel. He wouldn't return calls. I went to the studio to go see him-that's just my mantra, I deal with a lot of music people. He was kinda playing me to the side and I was like, 'What? What is this s-?' This was all initiated by me." Read more here.
