Thriller May Unseat Eagles At Top Selling Album in U.S. History
Billboard reports: For nearly a decade, the Eagles' "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" has been the recording industry's ultimate evergreen release, certified by the RIAA as the all-time best-selling album in the United States.

But thanks to continued robust demand for Michael Jackson's catalog since his June 25 death, "Thriller" appears on the verge of matching "Their Greatest Hits," at least in the eyes of the industry trade group.

In March, the Recording Industry Association of America certified "Thriller" as 28 times platinum, meaning that at least 28 million copies of the album have been shipped since its 1982 release. That's just a notch behind the Eagles' hits compilation, which was released in 1976 and was certified 29 times platinum in 2006. - more on this story

Tiff Jimber Release Party
PR reports: Tiff Jimber is hosting a CD release show at Hotel Cafe on August 7th to celebrate her new album, Burning at Both Ends. This project is Tiff's second full-length album and combines both her diverse jazz and classical training along with her audible passion for piano on ten original tracks of intricate and catchy melodies.

Tiff uses her life to imitate her art, and the song "Garage" was inspired by her days living in a garage, and the song "City Life" relates to her time living in Boston. "Different living situations have effected this album and life experiences have crept up and into every song on the album." - Tiff. This new album introduces listeners to a few quirky instruments: Accordion and Stylophone (performed by producer Matt Bobb).

Post Grad Sounds
PR reports: ABKCO Records has set August 18th for the digital and CD release of the soundtrack album from the motion picture Post Grad starring Alexis Bledel, well known for her role in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films and as Rory Gilmore during six successful seasons of TV's Gilmore Girls.

The Fox Searchlight Pictures release opens in theaters nationwide on August 21st and was directed by Vicky Jenson (Shrek, Shark Tale) based on a script by Kelly Fremon, and produced by Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Jeffrey Clifford.

Music heard on the ABKCO soundtrack serves as the backdrop for the story of college graduate Ryden Malby who is forced to move back into her childhood home with her eccentric family while attempting to find a job, the right guy and some indication as to where her life is headed.
Jack Savoretti, a UK-based singer/songwriter/poet of British and Italian parentage wrote the track "One Day" specifically for Post Grad and a version of "One Day" is performed in the film by Zach Gilford's character. A "One Day" music video featuring Post Grad footage is currently in post production. Several other previously unreleased tracks including Kevin Drew's "I Say I Go" and Lucy Schwartz' "Turn Back Around," are used to enhance the film's narrative. - more on this story
