Twenty years ago the world was introduced to Edina, Patsy and Saffron. It has never been quite the same. Eddy PR'd things. She was into every new fad and fashion imaginable and was often to be found at the bottom of a Champagne glass, actually more likely a bottle. Not much has changed. Her best friend Patsy worked in magazines and lived the high life. She still does. Eddy's daughter Saffy was hard-working, all but ignored by her mother and hated by Patsy. Eddy's mother was and is, well, her mother. They are all back for three new shows, 20 years after they first fell on to television. more on this story
(Glass Onyon) Described as "moody, laconic, enticing, sometimes baffling", Janet's music possesses a "dark beauty and symphonic grandeur." With ethereal ambient soundscapes intertwined with world music rhythms and hauntingly beautiful vocals, Janet's work continues in the path of her contemporaries Mike and Sally Oldfield, Kate Bush and Gilli Smyth. "This is what you might listen to after you are awakened from cryo-sleep and find yourself adrift somewhere on Orion's belt," says Bill Binkelman of Wind and Wire about Janet's music. more on this story

It sounds so simple -- a YouTube user who goes by the name iLCreation submitted a copyright claim on each of Bieber's videos ... including the "Baby" video which has over 600 MILLION views. YouTube has a yank first, ask questions later policy when a copyright claim is made -- so they simply pulled the videos off the site ... until the dispute is resolved. iLCreation also went after a few Lady Gaga videos -- but only a few of her videos are missing in action. Bieber's VEVO channel (a dedicated site for music videos) has been completely wiped out for the time being ... but a rep for VEVO tells us, "Someone is making false copyright claims against the Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga channels and YouTube has blocked access to the videos as a result. We are working with YouTube to resolve ASAP." more on this story
Vince wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, including "Threaten Me With Heaven," which he created with his wife Amy Grant, Dillon O'Brian and Will Owsley, who died last year. "'Threaten Me With Heaven' is a song that I was fortunate to get to be a part of," he says. "My wife Amy, Dillon O'Brian and Will Owsley were at our home working on that song. I think I had been playing golf or something. I walked into the house and they said, 'Hey, we're kind of stuck.' I'm glad I came home because I got to sit down and help finish a great idea. "Since I recorded it, my friend Will, who played guitar and sang on it, took his own life, so the song has a really profound impact on me now. The message of the song and what it is saying, I will probably always think of my guitar-playing buddy." more on this story

This is one of those songs that came all at once for me. Often with songs, the chorus or refrain comes to me first, in this case the melody and lyric "It is what it is, is what it is, one thing that I know now, it is what it is." I was alone in my mom's house in New Orleans. The house had been empty for a couple years since Katrina and in real need of repair and work. I was at a point in my life where I really wanted to make a change and "re-boot" if you will, and offered to move back to New Orleans (from Memphis) and oversee the repairs. Because good help was few and far between at that time, I was doing a lot of the work myself. The house has hardwood floors; a natural reverb chamber! I was in a bit of a forlorn and reflective state of mind and as I wandered through the house, the lyric and melody came to me. The previous years had been rather challenging for me personally and professionally and I had experienced many disappointments, disillusions and heartaches. After going through that, one hopes to learn so that the lessons won't have to be repeated a second, third or however many times. I was determined to learn, let go and move on. I sat down on the hard floor and picked up the guitar to figure out where the melody was on it. Somehow this was a bit symbolical in itself, as I was alone, sitting on a cold floor and realizing some hard truths about myself. The lyrics came to me rather quickly, with all that in mind, and though the music is a bit haunting, the lyrics are actually quite positive. I like to write lyrics that are comprised of mini mantras of sorts. If something is to be stuck in your head, why not have a positive message attached to it? That way, you repeat it to yourself as you hum it, or as it rambles and echoes in your mind. Ideally, it will ultimately become internalized and provide a positive change within you. That's my goal. So in this case, I wrote this song to remind myself "I cannot change the past and I cannot always have my way, I take the good with the bad and just let it all fly awayIt is what it is." Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album more on this story
