With the crowd completely surprised, the couple proceeded to renew their vows in a traditional Muslim ceremony. The location of Sam Cooke Way in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood, is birthplace to some of Chicago's most talented artists in music and the associated arts. It is where the Cooke family settled after migrating from Clarksdale, Mississippi in the early 1930's, initially residing at 3527 Cottage Grove Avenue and later moving to 724 E. 36th Street. Young Sam Cooke attended the neighborhood's DoolittleElementary School and, in 1948, graduated from Wendell Phillips High School. The unveiling of the new Sam Cooke Way street sign took place with the participation of the office of 4th Ward Alderman Will Burns, 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell, Sam Cooke's younger brothers L.C. and David Cooke as well as other Cooke family members, legendary radio personality and "Mayor of Bronzeville" Herb Kent, Cook Country Commissioner Jerry Butler (himself a soul music legend, who proclaimed June 18, 2011 as Sam Cooke Day in conjunction with the street naming ceremony), and Chicago Blues Museum CEO Gregg Parker and well over 400 Sam Cooke fans and fellow musicians.
Liddell has been going toe-to-toe with his ex Lori Geyer for months -- in an effort to gain custody of their 12-year-old son. But today in L.A. County Superior Court, the judge came down hard on Liddell -- because in addition to the child support, Liddell was also FINED $2,500 for failing to produce financial documentation requested by the court. TMZ contacted Liddell's lawyer, who told us Chuck didn't show because "[Lori's] attorney failed to provide notice in an attempt to obtain favorable decision." But Lori's attorney, Brian Kramer, tells us he has proof that Chuck received notice -- adding, "[Liddell's lawyer] had no valid excuse to boycott these proceedings." more on this story

We're told Dr. Murray feels so strongly about his innocence, even a plea with no jail time would be out of the question. Fact is ... Dr. Murray shouldn't hold his breath, because no plea bargain has been offered and sources tell us the D.A. will not offer one. As for Murray's defense ... we're told the centerpiece revolves around the fact that only two people were in the room around the time MJ died, and Murray insists he did not administer the fatal dose of Propofol. The operating theory of Murray's lawyers -- when the Doc left to go to the bathroom, a frustrated MJ woke up and administered the fatal dose himself in a desperate attempt to get some sleep. According to NME.com, Jackson had written the song especially for the show, but was blocked by his record company, Sony, from actually singing it. Stuntman Jeremy Fitzgerald tells TMZ, his job was simple -- get hit with an arrow and fall 30 feet off a building ... but he caught his foot on the way down, and slammed his head into the brick ... leaving behind a freshly peeled slab of scalp. But it could have been a LOT worse -- according to Jeremy, he narrowly missed a razor sharp rain gutter during the accident. And if all that wasn't badass enough -- Jeremy tells us, he went right back to work after the fall ... no hospital, no stitches ... just a bandage. more on this story

The single was released on June 7th on iTunes with the album pre-order for Sweeter, which is set for release on August 9th. Sweeter, Gavin's fourth album, finds Gavin co-writing for the first time in his career on a few of the album tracks, including his work with fellow piano player and master helmer/writer Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote and produced the album's first single "Not Over You," and the title track "Sweeter," as well as with Andrew Frampton (The Script, Natasha Bedingfield).
