(Billboard) "There was a time when the music business was incredibly monolithic and there were only two ways to get your music heard: sign to a major label, get your music played on MTV and get it played by big radio stations," Moby continued. "Thank God, that period has come to an end... Signing to a major, for 99.9% of the musicians on the planet, is the worst thing they could do... They've treated musicians badly. They've treated fans badly. They've treated the music badly, most importantly. For that reason, they either need to reinvent themselves or die quietly." more

(FMQB) Colbie Caillat is preparing her third full-length album, All Of You, for a May 3 release via Universal Republic. The 25-year-old singer began recording the new album last summer in California and finished up between tour dates in the fall. more

(FMQB) Sir Elton John will host Saturday Night Live on April 2, and he'll also appear as the musical guest with Leon Russell. It will be his first time back on SNL since 1982. more

The singer took to hours after Aguilera was released from jail after being arrested in West Hollywood for public intoxication and made the point that she has never spent time behind bars. more

(Jam!) Aretha Franklin knew something was seriously wrong with her health after suffering a pain so bad, it almost brought her to her knees. The Queen of Soul sparked fears for her well-being when a mystery illness prompted her to scrap a series of end-of-year shows in 2010. more

(NME) Snoop Dogg, Scissor Sisters and The Drums are among the acts confirmed to play this summer's Lovebox Festival. more

(Jam!) Rapper Kid Cudi has parted ways with his label after admitting he and his record company bosses have "different visions" of how his music should sound. more

Selena Gomez Advised About Justin Bieber Fan Hate
(Celebuzz) Justin Bieber recently broke millions of young girls' hearts when he publicly confirmed his romance with pop star Selena Gomez by sneaking in some PDAs at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday. Justin's hardcore fans aired their grievances over "Jelena" on Twitter and some even went so far to make threats on the Disney star's life.

How can Justin and Selena both deal with the fan hate surrounding their romance without alienating their fans? Celebuzz spoke with Monica Cost, celebrated columnist for EURWeb and branding expert, who helped map out the next steps for the young couple.

Monica explains that it can be hard for male teen stars to get into relationships with women (famous or not famous) since they are often placed "in a position where the fans feel that they are in a place of ownership" over the celeb. Justin's fans are an important and involved part of his life and he actively pursues an engaged relationship with his Beliebers through Twitter and Facebook, so it is easy to see why many of his fans would feel like they "own" the young star. Monica also explains that Justin and Selena's relationship may prove to problematic for some fans since she is older (18) and he is still viewed a "the young teen heartthrob." As for how they should address the Twitter hate
