Day in Pop Report for 04/18/2012
We're told Miley was cooking in her kitchen in Toluca Lake -- in the San Fernando Valley -- when she was preparing dinner and made a bloody slip. Miley's mom, grandmother and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth took her to the E.R., where doctors stitched her finger up. In the photo, shot by Star Feine, showing Miley leaving the emergency room, you can see blood seeping through the bandage. See the photo here.
We're told Britney's team and "X Factor" big wigs are working out "the fine points" of the deal, but the major terms are locked. Once the final contract is drafted and signed ... it will go to Jamie Spears, Britney's daddy and conservator, as well as lawyers for the conservatorship. If they sign off, it must then go to the judge who oversees the conservatorship for approval. Sources connected with the deal tell us ... it's a "virtual certainty" everyone will sign off. By the way, we're told Jason Trawick is "very involved" in the negotiations. Simon Cowell, the "X Factor" Executive Producer, told us on TMZ Live Tuesday, "I would love to have her on the show. I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to." Simon said they may make an announcement within a week. Britney would fill one of two vacant seats on the judging panel. She's also way more expensive than the castoffs -- Nicole Scherzinger reportedly pulled in $1.5 million, while Paula Abdul raked in $2.5 mil. "X Factor" refused to confirm or deny our story. more on this story
Fab was leaving Le Pain Quotidien bakery in L.A. yesterday ... when we asked about his infamous phony vocals scandal in 1990 ... when it was revealed neither he nor Rob Pilatus actually sang any of the hits on their album, "Girl You Know It's True." Fab tells TMZ, "There is no difference between what I did back then and what people are doing now." He explains, "If you wanna break it down, people might say, 'Well you didn't sing' ... but the fact of the matter is ... now the machines are doing it." Fab says technology like Auto-Tune allows singers to completely change their voice ... duping fans into believing they can sing ... when, in fact, they can't. "I ain't pointing the finger, but if you're doing all this and you're not performing the song live ... then you're not doing anything different from what I did." more on this story
Sources tell TMZ, 24-year-old Michael Lohan Jr. was staying at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells, CA -- and around 3AM Friday morning, the hotel received a noise complaint about his room. We're told hotel management paid a visit to Michael's room after the complaint -- and the party inside agreed to keep the volume down. But it didn't end there -- we're told someone then made a complaint about someone smoking in Michael's room ... and hotel management was forced to pay him ANOTHER visit. We're told management informed Michael it was a non-smoking room -- and the smoker put out his cigarette. We're told the hotel did not assess Michael a smoking fee. more on this story
