Lopez threw Bon Jovi's name into the mix during her farewell media blitz this week ... telling ABC News she'd like to see someone like Jon ... or Mick Jagger or Bono take over her spot. But one Bon Jovi source, who is definitely in a position to know, tells TMZ ... "With all systems go for a new album and a mega-tour on the horizon, Jon wouldn't be able to give those aspiring singers the guidance they deserve." The source adds, "Jon wouldn't commit to anything unless he can give 100%. With planning for the next album already underway, he's focused on the band." The search continues ... more on this story
The BBC published the reactions from some fans after promoter Live Nation confirmed that the tour plans were canceled but did not provide a reason. "I guess Madonna is too busy promoting her non-charting singles in major music markets like Romania and Bulgaria to tour Australia," said Mike Wass, from Sydney, on Twitter. Aaron Moss wrote, "Madonna fans Australia-wide, myself included, are sad beyond belief. She hasn't been here in my lifetime." Read the BBC report for more details
As TMZ first reported, the NHL defenseman had been investigated after the woman accused him of forcibly having sex with her at his home back in March ... after bumping into each other in a Hermosa Beach, CA bar. According to the the L.A. County District Attorney's Office ... the alleged victim "told the investigating officer that she had consensual sex with suspect" a few months prior to the March incident. The D.A. says there is insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt -- and as a result Doughy will not be prosecuted. Law enforcement sources have told TMZ there were "major issues" with the woman's credibility. more on this story

We're told authorities do NOT believe Sage was an addict, in no small part because of his weight. Our sources say ... at the time of his death, the 5'7" actor (his IMDB profile incorrectly lists his height at 5'10") weighed 188 pounds. One law enforcement source tells TMZ, "He was pudgy, and drug addicts are almost always rail thin." Our sources say authorities did not find a single Hydrocodone tablet in Sage's house. Yet, as we previously reported, they found more than 60 gigantic empty prescription bottles -- the kind stocked by pharmacists to fill consumer scripts. Each bottle holds a minimum of 500 pills, so Sage probably had more than 30,000 pills, but they were all gone. We're told LAPD detectives and L.A. County Coroner investigators are going to try and trace some of the bottles using batch numbers and serial numbers, but one well-placed source believes there's a "strong likelihood" Sage had the pills shipped from another country. Although the baggies of white powder found in Sage's room -- a room the maid was prohibited from entering -- have yet to be tested, our sources believe it will probably prove to be ground up Hydrocodone. As we first reported, Sylvester Stallone met with famed private investigator Scott Ross Tuesday and Ross will be doing his own digging to find out what was going on with Sage and why he died. more on this story

TMZ broke the story ... Williams filed a lawsuit against Crooks ... claiming she suffered serious injuries and psychological damage when Crooks belted her across the face back in January. Fortunately, the smack was caught on tape and aired on the VH1 reality show. But earlier this month, Williams decided to abandon her lawsuit ... and filed court docs to end the legal war forever. Sources say there was no settlement -- Jennifer simply decided not to move forward. A rep for Jennifer tells TMZ she is "already dealing with her difficult divorce and did not feel that it was necessary to continue to pursue civil action." Nia's lawyer Javier Solano tells TMZ, "We have always maintained that the frivolous lawsuit brought by Jennifer Williams was nothing short of a last-gasp attempt to maintain her dwindling relevance on the 'Basketball Wives.'" "Nia is happy to put this issue behind her and start looking ahead to work on her own career." more on this story
The CHP has completed its investigation and sent the file to the L.A. City Attorney. Frank Mateljan, spokesperson for the City Attorney, tells TMZ, his office is reviewing the case to determine if criminal charges against the photog should be filed. Our law enforcement sources say the CHP recommended the photog be prosecuted. We're told the possible charges include reckless endangerment. Witnesses say the cars involved in the chase -- including Bieber's -- were traveling at speeds approaching 100 mph. The City Attorney prosecutes misdemeanors, so if convicted, the photog faces jail time of 6 months for each offense. more on this story

After Vick went on CNN and told Piers Morgan he hopes to get a new puppy for his kids, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals immediately spoke out against the NFL star who spent 19 months in prison for illegal dogfighting. "Vick's journey toward rehabilitation and redemption has not reflected any direct concern for the wellbeing of animals, and we've never heard him express a shred of empathy toward the dogs he brutalized and killed" ... the org. tells TMZ. The ASPCA continues, "Rather than talk about the horrors and brutalities of dog fighting, Vick has instead chosen to focus on the consequences of getting caught." "Vick's actions have been simply self-serving and not remotely expressing remorse. Because of this, the ASPCA has serious concerns about Vick's ability to be a responsible pet guardian." In other words, don't expect to see Vick at the next ASPCA adoption event. more on this story
