Day in Pop Report for 11/01/2012
As we first reported, the LAPD has launched an investigation into the woman's allegations. Sources tell us, detectives went to the restaurant last week and interviewed several employees, including the manager, to determine if anyone saw the alleged attack. We're told the accuser is NOT an employee of the restaurant ...she's someone Cee Lo brought to dinner. Cee Lo tells us the woman's claims are not true and that he hasn't been to the restaurant for 3 months. Our sources say, the accuser told cops the alleged incident occurred several months ago. It's unclear why she waited so long to file a police report. more on this story

We broke the story ... Weezy was hospitalized Friday following two seizure-like episodes on board back-to-back flights. He's been recovering since at his mama's house -- but sources close to the rapper tell us, Weezy's doctor has ordered him to rest for the next week at least ... which means no working, and definitely no flying. We're told Wayne's been to the doctor twice since his hospitalization and has nurses coming to check on him regularly. The rapper's telling friends he feels the seizures were a result of working himself too hard after his jail stint -- and has been calling the health scare a "life-changing event" and an "eye-opener." We're told Weezy is planning to return to his Miami home shortly -- but he won't be taking a plane ... he'll be traveling inside a luxury bus. more on this story
The band were on the show to perform the song "Girl Named Tennessee" and they dressed up as girls from Tennessee: Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner and Minnie Pearl. You don't have to worry if you missed the show as the fine folks at Team Coco sent over a link to an online video of the performance that you can watch here.
The Tornado Tour is set to kick off on January 31, 2013 in Murray, KY and will be in support of the band's No 1 album, Tornado. "We've been looking forward to announcing this tour for so long and can't wait to hit the road next year," said Schlapman. "It's going to be so much fun to share more music from this record with our fans and we feel very honored to have Kacey and David opening for us. They're incredible artists. This new album means so much to us and to be able to showcase all of these songs is a dream come true." more on this story
Auerbach manned the boards for "Bitter Memory," an unreleased Lucinda Williams tune performed on the show by actress Connie Britton's character, Rayna Jaymes, according to Rolling Stone. "We wanted a wild producer," said guitarist Buddy Miller, who's overseeing the show's original music along with executive producer T Bone Burnett. Miller went on to say three versions of the song were cut a "writing" version, a rockabilly version and a version played on an Omnichord. "What TV show is gonna have an Omnichord in it?" Miller joked. "I mean, that probably doesn't happen that much in Nashville, but then, on the other hand, it probably happens more [there] than it does anywhere else is the world." The production gig is one of many Auerbach has taken on this year, including work on Dr. John's latest CD, Locked Down, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' The Lion the Beast the Beat. more on this story
The pair haven't confirmed reports, but they are flying around from multiple outlets including US Weekly, NME and Spinner. Sources tell the outlets that the split is down to not being able to make their long distance relationship work. With Goulding ramping up promotion of her new album Halcyon and Skrillex touring nonstop, the pair probably aren't getting to see each other much. more on this story
The North American tour is set to kick off March 13th in Omaha, Nebraska, and then continue through mid-September. Bruno debuted "Young Girls" during his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago, when he did double duty as both host and musical performer. The SNL appearance was delivered as a soft, piano-based tune, as opposed to the higher-energy studio version. Listen to the song here.
The song is the second track issued from the band's forthcoming sophomore effort, "Take Me Home." Earlier this week, One D posted a lyric video for the track, and each day they've been counting down to the Friday launch with teaser clips of "Little Things" featuring each member of the group. Check it out here.
And while many fans were surprised by the choice of Odom and Lopez as hosts for the singing competition, no one was more surprised that Odom herself that she got the job. "It was a surprise for me that I was even up for this job but I think I got the job because I am who I am," the reality star told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview. "I don't make excuses for it." "I think Simon [Cowell], from what he said to me is, he liked that I'm not some trained host and that's why Mario's here to kind of stir the ship if I get lost," she continued. Lopez also told us he is excited about his new gig. more on this story

Opening at a concert for her kinsmen and spread over five locations, the video puts Ora on the back of a motorcycle, in the streets surrounded by children, at a huge concert, on top of a skyscraper and in an empty stadium. Almost as big a star as Kosovo in the video is Ora's fashion. In a shot that almost looks like green screen, where the city is spread out behind her, Ora wears a sexy black bikini top, topped with a chocolate brown puffy jacket whose hood is lined with fur trim. Michael tells us, he's been running a nonprofit organization based in Florida for the last nine months that stages interventions for people in need of substance abuse treatment ... and so far, he's already performed over 25. Sources close to Michael tell us, Octomom's manager recently voiced her concerns to him about the mother of 14's Xanax dependency -- so Michael decided to take action last week, making arrangements for Octomom's treatment program. According to sources, Octomom's team -- with Michael's help -- then staged an intervention, and Octo agreed to get help. Michael tells us, "The most important thing is the willingness to realize and surrender to the issue and commit to getting help, which Nadya did!" He adds, "If it wasn't for her manager Gina, my good friend, Tim Chapman at the Chapman house/Teen savers and Gina's daughter, this would not have been possible. They deserve a lot of credit!" Octo's currently in a 30-day in-patient program, but she still gets to call her kids twice a day. more on this story

They were together as a married couple for 6 years. more on this story
A rep for the SF Zoo tells TMZ, the red-haired Francois' langur monkey will forever be named after Giants' closing pitcher Sergio Romo ... who struck out Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera to clinch the WS Sunday night. Sergio (the monkey) rose to fame during the NLCS -- when the Giants went on a 3-game winning streak right after its birth. Fans claimed Sergio's miraculous birth was responsible for the Giants' wins -- and demanded the zoo name the "Lucky Langur" after a current Giants player. The zoo's rep says they settled on the name because the monkey shares Sergio's "playful spirit." Fun fact: Sergio (the monkey) is actually female. more on this story

She dated Joe Jonas for awhile, but they split up in 2009. People who were at Latitude 30 that night tell us ... Tim and Camilla were overly affectionate throughout the evening, holding hands and touching. Camilla's rep didn't get back to us, but sources connected with Camilla tell us they are definitely an item. more on this story
A source close to the owner of the Shore Store tells TMZ, the storm caused severe water damage to a lot of the merchandise -- including t-shirts and jewelry display cases -- as well as screen printing equipment. But we're told the worst damage of all was to the rolling steel doors in front of the shop, which were bashed in by Sandy's extremely strong winds. Each door costs several thousand dollars. The boardwalk itself was also torn asunder by the storm, as you can see in the picture. The "Jersey" shore cast all tweeted their concerns during the storm, claiming they couldn't believe the extent of the damage. See the photo here.
