Day in Pop Report for 10/23/2012
Michael has told an attorney, his daughter is in the danger zone ... a substance abuser, he says, who is hanging with the wrong group of people, including Dina Lohan. Michael will meet with lawyers early this week, and there's one thing he does want -- he will NOT become Lindsay's conservator, because he doesn't want to run her finances so people will pass it off as a money grab. We're told Michael wants the judge to decide who to appoint conservator, but he says it CAN'T be Dina. Michael told the lawyer the first thing he will do if there's a conservatorship is convince the conservator to send Lindsay to rehab, without the influence of the other people in her life. Michael says every time Lindsay has been to rehab -- including at Cirque Lodge and Betty Ford -- "She went in dirty and didn't come out clean," and he blames it on the people in her lives who helped fuel her addiction. Michael also told the lawyer he wants the conservator to somehow convince Dina that they need family therapy. He says Dina has always refused it in the past, and it has been a big stumbling block in Lindsay's recovery. We broke the story ... LIndsay's entire management team, including her lawyers, were all involved in Michael's attempted intervention Friday. Turns out ... it wasn't just his idea. People are alarmed. more on this story

There's also a Beatles song Dolenz first heard from the Fab Four themselves during a session at Abbey Road Studios ("Good Morning Good Morning"), a Harry Nilsson track written right before his eyes ("Remember"), and a massive pop hit originally intended for the Monkees (The Archies' "Sugar, Sugar"), which now sounds almost sinister. Dolenz easily strolls through his memories for the album, but it took "badgering" from producer David Harris to get Dolenz to do a deep-dive into his personal history. The result is a scrapbook of covers and reworked versions of Monkees songs, like "I'm A Believer" made to match Dolenz's country roots. But the album isn't quite the same without hearing Dolenz's stories behind the song choices. He shares a few in our sit-down session with him. Watch here.

Octo's rep tells TMZ her security caught the mail lady snapping pics of Nadya's car and home on Thursday. She says security confronted her and she claimed she was taking pics of the car because she wanted one for herself. Octo and her security team didn't buy the woman's story, so Octo filed a complaint with the Palmdale Postmaster for violation of privacy. Octo tells TMZ she believes the mail lady has been giving out her address and says she's noticed an increase in traffic in her neighborhood as of late. Octo tells us, "I am so shocked by the behavior of the USPS, now I know how people have been getting my address. It is very disturbing that this woman is handling my personal mail and possibly taking pictures of that as well. I certainly hope they are going to take this situation seriously. It is disgusting." Octo says the Postmaster told her they are investigating the situation. more on this story
The 26-year-old David -- who is in the final 16 -- told the judges during his first audition that he was singing for his birth mother -- whom he'd never met -- who gave him up for adoption from Brazil as a baby. Sources close to David tell TMZ when his episode of "X" aired in Brazil, a woman named Luciene Lima recognized the baby pics shown in David's segment and had a gut feeling he was hers. We're told Luciene went through the Brazilian court system to trace her adoption -- and her findings led her back to David. Luciene, not knowing how to reach out to her long lost son, contacted the local media. Our sources say a local paper was able to track David down in the U.S. and tell him about his mother. We're told a DNA test has not been performed, but so far everything matches: the birth certificate, the orphanage David came from and the timeline. A close friend of David's tells TMZ, "David is so happy -- and he can't wait to meet her for the first time." more on this story
Holland -- who plays bratty Lydia on the hit MTV show -- is being sued by Luber Roklin Entertainment ... which claims it entered an oral agreement with the actress in Dec. 2009 to manage her career. In the docs, filed this month, LRE says it helped Holland score the "Teen Wolf" role in 2010 -- and Holland rightfully paid LRE 10% of her hard-earned salary for the whole first season. But in 2011, LRE claims Holland ditched the company -- and stopped all payments from her "Teen Wolf" money ... despite the oral agreement. LRE is suing for breach of contract -- and wants 10% of EVERYTHING Holland earns from the series. A judge has yet to rule. more on this story
