Man Targeted Young Girls By Posing As One Direction's Harry Styles
(Radio.com) A Waterbury, Connecticut man has been arrested after pretending to be Harry Styles of One Direction. According to Waterbury newspaper the Republican American, 45-year-old John Eastman posed as Styles and would Skype with young girls as the singer and entice them to perform sex acts.

Police report hundreds of photos and videos of child pornography were found on his home computer, some of which were taken from his webcam when he talked to underage girls online.

An arrest warrant states that he used the Skype name Harry.Styles888 to convince girls he was the British boy-bander. "My hope is that the girl will show me herself on camera and then pose in a sexual manner, or perform some kind of sex act for me to see," Eastman told detectives, according to his arrest warrant. more on this story

Snoop Lion And Miley Cyrus Team Up For Ashtrays And Heartbreaks
(Radio.com) Snoop Lion and Miley Cyrus teamed up for an unexpected duet on "Ashtrays And Heartbreaks" that now has a video. "Is there any possibility that everyone feels like me?" the duo croon in tandem on Snoop's much belated response to the Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men duet, "End of the Road."

The track, a salute to those who aren't with us anymore, is at once a morose and reggae-centric look for Snoop Lion. Cyrus is pushed to a featured role in the video, matching her credit on the song, to be seen only in reflection and behind windows but never in the forefront of the action. Snoop is also often set in reflection, save a few slow-motion shots of him exhaling smoke on a black background.

"Ashtrays And Heartbreaks" appears to be set in Compton and has that certain Instagram-ish filter that could easily be called Retro. Cyrus and Snoop are in matching white, but stand in stark opposition to each other in every other way down to her inability to keep that famous "Smiley" face from popping up (causing her to look a little too happy to be singing on such a chill song). Check it out here.

Blake Shelton Benefit Raises $6 Million For Tornado Relief
(Radio.com) Blake Shelton brought together the star power for his Healing in the Heartland benefit concert Wednesday night (May 29) and raised millions of dollars for relief efforts.

Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill, Darius Rucker, Usher and Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic took the stage to raise money for those affected by last week's devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma.

Wednesday night's benefit raised over $6 million in pledges and ticket sales to help the community, which is dealing with the aftermath of tornado that killed 24 people. Seven children lost their lives last week, and Shelton does not take this lightly.

"I spent three Christmases at my sister's house in Moore, Oklahoma, and some of those helicopter views of the destruction, you could see her house a quarter of a mile away from there," he said.

"My nieces and nephews would have gone to that school (Plaza Towers Elementary), and when you start putting it in that sort of perspective, and then thinking, 'Oh my God, I am so glad that they recently moved away from that area.' And then you go, 'What about all those people that didn't?' It's hard to put into words, honestly." more on this story

Gloriana Hit New Milestone With (Kissed You) Good Night
(Radio.com) The members of Gloriana have many reasons to celebrate. For starters, their new single "Can't Shake You" just landed in the Top 20 on Billboard's Country Singles chart. This follows hot on the success of "(Kissed You) Good Night," which was the most played song by any group at country radio last year.

And now just this week, "(Kissed You) Good Night" from the band's second studio album, A Thousand Miles Left Behind was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.), for selling a million copies.

Radio.com talked with Gloriana last year about the song, which Tom Gossin wrote with Josh Kear. "We were talking about when life parallels movie moments," Tom said of their initial inspiration. "When something happening seems too good to be real almost, or too perfect a moment."

Gossin went on to explain how the idea for the song came together after he overheard a girl talking to her friends about her first date with a new guy.

"Her friends were asking if the guy kissed her at the end of the date, and she said, 'No and that ruined the whole night,'" he recalled. "I was thinking back to my own life when I was dating. How hard that was as the guy to make that move for the first kiss. I think this song is set in that setting of a first date and about having a first kiss." more on this story

Kelly Rowland Airs Her Dirty Laundry in New York
(Radio.com) Last Thursday (May 30) in New York City, Kelly Rowland sang "Dirty Laundry," her confessional new ballad about living in the shadow of Beyonce off her upcoming album, Talk A Good Game. But she didn't cry on stage.

At a recent show in Washington, D.C., the singer broke down while singing the song, which speaks of an abusive ex-boyfriend who used Bey's fame in mind games against Rowland. She even had to stop in the middle of the song, which was produced by her tour mate The-Dream, to pull herself together.

So while there were no tears in New York, that doesn't mean emotions weren't running high during the performance. "This song started a lot of stuff," Rowland said to the crowd as the first few chords of the song played. "This is my truth."

In the two weeks since the song was released online, Rowland's gotten a bit of press for her open letter, which sheds light on what it was really been like for her to see her best friend hit the big time, all the while she struggled with things deeper than fame.

Unsurprisingly, "Dirty Laundry" has also led to speculation as to the identity of the ex Rowland sings about. There's been so much speculation that Rowland's ex-fianc, former football player Roy Williams, felt he needed to put some rumors to rest.

Rowland has been candid about the guy's identity and continued to stay mum at the show saying only, "I think everyone has their form of dirty laundry. I decided to air mine out."

Sitting on a stool with a towel in her hand, Rowland lamented about the past. With her eyes shut tight she sang, "When you're soaked in tears for years, it never airs out/When you make pain look this good, it never wears out." more on this story

X Ambassadors Make Funky Debut With Help From Imagine Dragons
(Radio.com) If the X Ambassadors get really big, the band knows exactly who to thank: Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. While in Virginia, Reynolds heard an acoustic version of one of the band's songs on the radio and immediately called his friend and producer, Alex da Kid. All Reynolds told him was he needed to sign X Ambassadors immediately, which Kid did. Their debut EP, Love Songs Drug Songs, is out now on Kid's Interscope imprint, KIDinaKORNER Records.

The Imagine Dragons singer has done a lot for the quartet, from getting them signed to taking them on tour to co-writing their song, "Stranger." That said, singer Sam Harris told Radio.com the absolute best thing he's done is help them finally figure out the instrumentation of their first single, "Unconsolable."

"Unconsolable" was something Harris and his bandmates guitarist Noah Feldshuh, drummer Adam Levin, and brother, Casey had been toying with for years.

It started with Sam and Feldshuh, who have been friends since they were just six years old, playing around with a Casio keyboard one night five or six years ago. They created a guitar loop that would later become the melody. Then Sam just started singing the song's opening line, "I hope we stay thick as thieves, butter and bread, pillars of colonial homes," before writing the rest of the song, which was about growing up in the college town of Ithaca, New York.

The band recorded the song three different times and added different layers over time, from a number of loops to a saxophone breakdown to a toy keyboard. But it was Reynolds who told them to strip it down.

The song is now more like that acoustic version Reynolds heard on the radio and revolves around one persistent drumbeat, which highlights Sam's gritty upper register. They did decide to keep the toy piano though and even made the instrument a staple in their live show. "We bought a sturdy, sturdy flight case for it for a bunch of money," Felshuh explained. "Worth ten times more than the actual piano," Casey joked. more on this story

Singled Out: Marc Mysterio's Booty On Tha Floor (Feat: Flo Rida)
Today Marc Mysterio tells us about his brand new track, "Booty On Tha Floor" which features hip hop star Flo Rida and was edited by DJs From Mars. Here is the story:

Brandy not following through on her feature on "Shout It Out" and not returning the money for over a year, with the addition settlement cash, handcuffed us in what we could do. I decided to give it another go to get a big feature in late 2011, and made first contact with Flo's team in early 2012.

As far as the sound of the tune goes, I wanted to do something more old school in that it had less vocals and the production and music is what drove the song. I think as DJ artists, with EDM becoming mainstream, we've forgotten a bit whom we are and why we are artists in the first place. Grammy winner Roger Sanchez once explained when the dj helms the project he is the artist and while the vocalist is a part of the performance, the vocals are an extension of the DJs performance and elements produced by him later performed live.

Now, if we are just making pop records, perhaps we are no longer artists? We explained to Jay and E-Class that we just wanted to do this right and they're pretty old school so we connected on that level. I think the sound of the song properly represents old school meeting new school. As one of the first djs in the mainstream press back in 2009 with Samantha Fox, I hope that some of the newer guys will at least consider doing a similar arrangement, even for fun on a more clubbier release.

Sully Erna of Godsmack once told me, "be yourself everyone else is already taken" so I'm really applying that logic on this record with "Booty On The Floor'.

For my next move, Jay Washington had mentioned Kesha could be a good fit for a song of mine. I have one called "who got milf" she'd be perfect for and still needs a bridge - would love to co-write it with her and her mom Pebe Sebert - they are both amazing writers!

Also, would like to branch out in to more hard rock style vocals on my album for one track only though and get someone like Ozzy, Al Barr from the Dropkick Murphys or Sully Erna from Godsmack as a feature on a record - would be an edgy new sound!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself right here!
