Gucci Mane Sentenced To Three More Years in Prison
(Radio.com) Rap star Gucci Mane pleaded guilty to an assault charge on Monday (September 15th) in Atlanta, guaranteeing he will spent more time behind bars.

The prolific rapper is guilty of charges of assaulting with a bottle an Army staff sergeant who wanted a picture with him at the Harlem Nights club in Atlanta on March 16 of last year, the Atlanta Journal-Constitutition reports.

As a result, Judge Tom Campbell sentenced Gucci, real name Radric Davis, to three years in prison. The sentencing follows a recent conviction for illegal possession of a firearm, for which he was ordered to spend 39 months in prison (he'll only have to serve 28 more of that ruling). The new assault sentence will reportedly run concurrently with the firearms sentence. Read more here.

Lindsay Lohan Wheeled Whitney Houston's Corpse Into the Morgue?
(Radio.com) Back in 2012 when Lindsay Lohan was doing community service, for her violating her probation from drunk driving after receiving a necklace theft conviction, Lohan claims that she was the one who wheeled Whitney Houston's dead body into an L.A. morgue.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Lohan told her version of the late singer's arrival at the morgue. "[Working in the morgue was] f'd up and inappropriate - because a lot of other people were meant to do it, and they were like: 'No, they can't handle it. Lohan can,'" she said.

"It's different for me than it would be for other people - like, no one would really have to work at the morgue in LA and roll a body bag for Whitney Houston."

Kanye West Doesn't Appear To Berate Fan In Wheelchair In New Video
(Radio.com) Kanye West is a special flower who keeps his Grammys in his sock drawer, uses his only phone call in jail to order Chinese takeout and pretends to be on his phone to shoo away unwanted fans at the airport. So when news broke that Kanye berated a fan in a wheelchair at a recent show in Australia for not standing up, it didn't seem too farfetched. Unfortunately, that's not exactly how the story goes.

Yes, Kanye West did stop during "The Good Life," something he's done throughout his run Down Under, to tell the crowd that the best way to enjoy his show is by standing. "I can't do this show until everybody stand up," he said. "Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and s-t."

As Consequence of Sound points out there was a bit of awkward silence, but a video from the show that has hit the internet does not feature 'Ye going after a fan in a wheelchair.

In the clip, Kanye does say, "If he's in a wheelchair, it's fine," which may or may not confirm reports that he had security guards go into the crowd and check to make sure that said sitting audience member was actually really in a wheelchair.

There is also no word yet if reports of a person in the crowd waving their prosthetic leg in the air to explain why he was sitting are in fact true. But we really hope they are.

Rick Ross Releases Video and Reveal New Album Release Date
(Radio.com) If you thought one Rick Ross album was all we were going to get in 2014, think again. In his new video, Rosay takes the time to announce a new album, Hood Billionaire, due out on November 28, aka the shopping "holiday" known as Black Friday. This follows the year's other Rick Ross full-length, Mastermind, which came out back in March.

Of course, the video isn't just an album announcement, it's also for the release's first single, "Elvis Presley Blvd." The video was filmed in Memphis, which the clip makes sure you know in the intro depicting Ross getting a key to the city upon the opening of his newest Wingstop restaurant. (Apparently, Ross is the proud owner of around 25 Wingstop franchises).

The song also features Memphis' own Project Pat, while the video finds Ross literally rolling down E.P. Blvd in a pink Cadillac and rhyming about Priscilla Presley with his trademark gravelly snarl and snails-pace tempo.

RZA Discusses This Week's Wu-Tang Clan Reunion Show
RZA has shared his excitement about the Official Wu-Tang Clan reunion show that will be taking place at the 1st annual #SOURCE360 Concert at The Barclays Center.

The concert happens this coming Saturday, September 20th, at the Brooklyn, NY venue and will also feature performances The Diplomats, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Lil Kim, Dom Kennedy and Curren$y.

Here is what RZA had to say, "This show is our first time in Brooklyn as a whole in over 15 years. With 4 members being born in that part of New York there is a strong connection with us to that city. We have been touring sparsely through out the year with partial members making and not making their appearance, but this performance will have every surviving member present.

"Wu-Tang can be considered a pillar of New York Hip-Hop. With no less than 7 gold and platinum solo artists and a combined multi-platinum group all under one banner, you will be hard pressed to find this much Hip-Hop royalty on one stage in unity.

"This is our first Barclays Center appearance and for most of us the first time we will step into this modern monumental landmark in Brooklyn. After growing up in the rough times of that city trying to find ourselves, it's a honor to return to it and carve our names into a piece of its history.

"The Source has been, since the early days, a voice of Hip-Hop music culture and politics and as they celebrate their milestone in history we are delighted to be a part of it and celebrate with them. Brooklyn be prepared to enter the 36 Chambers."

You can find more information about the concert as well as the expo here.

Amy Winehouse Statue Unveiled
(Radio.com) A life-size bronze statue of Amy Winehouse was unveiled in London on Sunday (September 14th), on what would have been the late singer's 31st birthday.

The statue was created by the London-based sculptor Scott Eaton and features the Back to Black singer with her trademark beehive and a bright red flower in her hair. According to the BBC, Eaton wanted the statue to capture her "attitude and strength, but also give subtle hints of insecurity."

"The hand on the hip, the turn of the head, the grabbing of the skirt, the turned in foot - these are all small elements that contribute to the personality of the piece," Eaton said.

Amy's parents attended the unveiling in Camden's Stable Market, with her father, Mitch Winehouse saying that seeing the statue was "incredibly emotional."

"It is like stopping her in a beautiful moment in time," Mitch said. "We really hope Amy's fans love the statue." Read more and see a photo here.

Childish Gambino Releases Sober Track
(Radio.com) Childish Gambino's new song takes him back a couple decades. The song, "Sober," was released onto the rapper's Soundcloud page Sunday (Sept. 14). It finds Donald Glover departing a bit from his usual rhyming, trading them for a smooth R&B croon.

"Sober" features '80s-esque synths of varying sounds and the occasional electric guitar beneath Gambino's higher register, which sings that "now that it's over, I'll never be sober."

Briefly, the song veers into more abrasive territory, seemingly setting up Gambino for a quick rap verse. But after the quick sidestep, it jumps back on course to showcase Glover the singer.

The Soundcloud claims the song to be an unmixed rough take, so the final version could certainly have some additions and changes. Check it out here.

Brett Eldredge Releases 'Mean to Me' Video
(Radio.com) Brett Eldredge's new single "Mean to Me" was written for that future special someone in his life - and the music video for the song brings this sentiment to life.

Filmed in Chicago, the video for "Mean to Me" shows the country singer getting ready for a date with that special girl. Shot in black and white, Eldredge is shown slowly getting ready for his rooftop date by shaving, suiting up and getting driven through the streets of Chicago before he meets his lady at a candlelit rooftop dinner.

"I'm preparing myself the best I can for this girl because she is everything," he told PEOPLE Country. "She is your world and you want to make sure everything is perfect for her. It kind of gave me chills shooting it."

In an interview with Radio.com discussing "Mean To Me," which he wrote with Scooter Carusoe, Eldredge opened up about how the song came together.

"I was just fiddling around on the guitar and we just started pouring them out [the lyrics] in these real descriptive ways. It's a real special song that hopefully I can sing to my future soulmate one day."

Miss America Uses Pharrell Hit To Win
(Radio.com) How does one win the coveted title of Miss America? As Kira Kazantsev proved Sunday night, singing a song by Pharrell is one way. Adding the "Cups" routine is another.

The former Miss New York and 23-year-old Hofstra graduate took home the title after covering the song that earned Pharrell an Academy Award nomination, "Happy."

Kazantsev's rendition didn't involve any dancing or big hats, but she did manage to pull out a technique from another recent hit song, "Cups (When I'm Gone)" from Pitch Perfect, pulling off the cup-stacking rhythm in addition to singing "Happy." Kazantsev has clearly paid attention to pop culture over the past couple of years.

All in all, it was a pretty smart move to blend together two things that America loves - and apparently the judges agreed, given her victory. More including video here.

BANKS Discusses Her Approach To Videos
(Radio.com) BANKS released her debut album, Goddess, on Sept. 9. About a month before that, she posted her sixth music video from the album. That level of output from a brand new artist in an often costly visual medium in this day and age is unusual. For BANKS, it's been a key part of a multi-tiered way to establish her aesthetic.

Any writer reading her bio or interviewing her quickly sees: aside from lyrics, BANKS is more comfortable dealing in aural and visual worlds than the world of words. The slinky, sexy, Helmut Newton-esque style she's exhibited in her videos is a constant, but she says it's not an intellectual exercise.

"Everything is by instinct," BANKS says of her creative process. "There's nothing mathematic about it. There's nothing logical about it. It's pure nutrition. I don't think, I just feel and I do. When something connects with me, I hope that it connects with other people. That's the most special thing in the world."

In her current video, "Beggin for Thread," she collaborates with director Barnaby Roper, also the auteur behind the "Brain" vid. It's a little more high fashion, visually, than the rest of her body of work so far. The black and white clip finds her on a sound stage in a gown, striking a well-known high fashion pose, with isolated body shots of the rippling backs of young men interspersing her actions. It's similar to the aesthetic of Calvin Klein's well known perfume commercials in the '90s. BANKS characterizes the shoot, and her posturing, as instinctual and totally drive by the feelings her music inspires in her.

"Videos need to accentuate the heartbeat of the song. My music often times feels heavy, to me. It's like a heavy growl. I want that in my videos. With my videos, it comes down to if I like them or I don't. If I do, it's probably going to look like BANKS because I am me. I make the music that I like and I make the videos that I like to give off the right essence," she says with a smile. "That's what everybody does without trying. You don't need to try and be you, you just are."

Train Discuss New Album
(Radio.com) Pat Monahan of Train spent much of his Mermaids of Alcatraz Tour last year working on new songs for the band's seventh studio album. That release, titled Bulletproof Picasso, will see the light of day on Sept. 16.

In an interview with New York's Fresh 102.7 (a CBS Radio station), Monahan and bandmate Jimmy Stafford opened up about the 12-track release and the album's lead single "Angel In Blue Jeans." "Subconsciously, everything romantic that I write lyrically would be about my wife since she is such a lovely part of my life," Monahan said.

This can be seen on the band's latest release and especially on new single "Angel In Blue Jeans." While last year, Monahan told Radio.com admitted the song title sounds a bit country, it's not a country song. "The song is literally about dreaming about trying to find that woman that did a magical thing to you and then you wake up from the dream at the end and you're laying next to her. And then you can relax," Monahan explained.

The video for the song, however, takes a drastic turn. It premiered on VEVO in July and features actors Danny Trejo (Desperado, Heat, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad) and Hannah Simone (New Girl). They portray people living in a Wild West-like world who start a gun fight with the band.

Having released six previous albums, Stafford told Fresh 102.7 that this album takes the cake. "The 11 other singles on the record are all unique," he asserted. "In my opinion, this is our best collection of songs that we've ever put on one record. It's really great writing, really great melody. Overall, I think it's our best work."
