Tom Jones Loses Wife Of 59 Years (The Blues) Tom Jones' wife Melinda has died after a cancer battle, the singer has confirmed. He married Melinda Rose Woodward 59 years ago, after the pair met in the Welsh town of Treforest when they were both 12 years old.
They had one son, Mark, who now works as the singer's manager. Last year Jones cancelled a number of shows as a result of a "serious illness" in the family.
A statement on his website says: "Sir Tom Jones' wife of 59 years, Lady Melinda Rose Woodward, passed away Sunday morning after a short but fierce battle with cancer.
"Surrounded by her husband and loved ones, she passed away peacefully at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles." Read more here.
Cole Swindell's Streams New Song 'Flatliner' Featuring Dierks Bentley (Radio.com) All kinds of colloquial words and phrases exist to describe just how fine a woman can be, and a lot of those have originated from music. Cole Swindell is adding to that list with his newest single "Flatliner" featuring Dierks Bentley.
The tune is all about a woman who-you guessed it-flatlines his heart because of how attractive she is. "Dang, girl, look at you/ Stopping me in my boots/ What's a country boy to do, but say/ Uh uh," Swindell sings in the song's opening verse.
The chorus picks up on the song's title, and finds Swindell about to have a figurative heart attack after looking at the woman. "Somebody better call a doctor/ She's a little heart stopper/ I'm talking breaker breaker one-niner/ She's a flatliner, oh she's a flatliner," he sings.
Elsewhere in the song, Swindell and Bentley joke around about how they would even approach such a woman. Easily said and done, just sing her a tune.

KRS-One Releases Phife Dawg Tribute Song (Radio.com) It has been three weeks since the untimely death of A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg and the tributes to the late rapper continue. Recently, KRS-One released a song in honor of Phife Dawg where all proceeds will go to his family.
The song, called "The Phife Tribute," was produced by DJ Static. Meanwhile, the track's Bandcamp page urges other emcees to get involved in paying tribute to the rapper, whether it be by recording additional music or simply making a donation.
"Calling all emcees! To spit a 16 bar! In honor of Phife Dawg! All donations will go directly to, Phife Dawgs family," the page states. "Donate whatever you can! Minimum price is $5 dollars. So you can donate as much as you want to, Phifes family." Read more here.
Demi Lovato And Miguel Collaborate On New Song (Radio.com) Demi Lovato is sitting pretty with the release of her latest studio album, earning praise for last year's coolest song of the summer and kudos for Confident's more subdued tracks. As she looks ahead, one collaboration we can't wait to hear is her work with Miguel.
On Twitter, the pair teased a "wavy" new song they wrote together--no confirmation on whether it's the one that Lovato had stuck in her head last week.
"Wrote a song with @Miguel today," Demi tweeted. "I'm so excited to hear it with the track!!! Miguel, you are the [poop emoji]!!" Miguel responded in kind with a simple "such a great wave." Read more here.
will.i.am Says 'There Will Be A Black Eyed Peas Reunion' (Radio.com) The Black Eyed Peas haven't released a new studio album since 2010's The Beginning, despite perfecting a sound that helped define a decade. Frontman will.i.am says the Peas have plans to reunite--and although details are slim, it sounds like he really wants it to happen.
"There will be a Black Eyed Peas reunion,' he said on Capital's Evening Show. He also expressed some regret that the group ever disbanded to pursue solo projects.
"It just, it breaks my heart that I even have to say that because really we should just'we should just always have been doing Black Eyed Peas actually," he said. 'We shouldn't have ever'[stopped]." Read more here.
Timbaland Releases New Song For NBA Playoffs (Radio.com) Timbaland has been busy collaborating with everyone from Justin Timberlake to Missy Elliott and Drake, but he still managed to set aside some time to launch a new "partnership" with the NBA.
The songwriter, rapper and producer recently wrote a song called "Every Second Counts," which will be featured as part of the NBA's This Is Why We Play advertising campaign.
The 30-second clip premiered last night (April 12), during two games: the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. the San Antonio Spurs.
One of Timbaland's business partners brought the artist the proposal. "I thought it was a brilliant idea," Timbaland told Billboard. "He just thought the music that I create would be perfect for what they're looking for." Read more here.
Garth Brooks Calls On Wayne Gretzky For Carrie Underwood (Radio.com) Garth Brooks wants Carrie Underwood to make good on her promise to play a "pick up game" on the ice with Wayne Gretzky. After Brooks recorded a short video duet with Underwood's Nashville Predators husband Mike Fisher, she resolved to scoop him on a legendary hockey moment:
"How is it that my hubby, @mfisher1212 gets to sing with THE @garthbrooks before I do? As payback, I think I'll try to see if Wayne Gretzky wants to play a pick up hockey game sometime!"

Erykah Badu Surprises Students With Lunch Time Performance (Radio.com) Erykah Badu loves the kids and the kids love her. Back in 2014, Badu surprised the students at a high school in Newark, New Jersey with an appearance and impromptu performance of her debut single "On & On."
The school keeps the morale high by playing R&B classics during lunch. One day while the DJ was spinning, Badu nonchalantly walked into the cafeteria with some of the school's administration.
She greeted the kids and most blindly responded before realizing who they were speaking to. As the realization spread across the room, the DJ put on Badu's song "On & On." Like any performer, she grabbed the mic and gave the crowd a brief show and was stealing food from kids' plates during the performance.

Common Shows Off His Break Dancing Skills With Jimmy Fallon (Radio.com) Chicago MC Common hasn't lost his touch when it comes to cutting a rug. He showed he could still get down with the best of them during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The rapper was on the late night talk show promoting his new comedy Barbershop 3: The Next Cut, but wound up busting some moves after sharing an embarrassing story.
Common shared that he split his pants at Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's wedding trying to do too much on the dance floor. After giving he audience a laugh with the anecdote, the rapper/actor showed he could still hit a b-boy backspin and some other moves.

St. Vincent To Write And Direct For All Female Horror Anthology (Radio.com) St. Vincent is set to write and direct a horror film. The singer and guitarist, real name Annie Clark, announced her involvement with XX Tuesday via her Twitter account.
"XX is a new horror anthology with a gender twist," according to the film's official website. "All segments will be helmed by female directors and will star female leads. The directors have been given free creative rein within budget and time constraints, but all of the segments themselves will involve the horror genre."
Clark joins directors Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer's Body), Jennifer Lynch (Surveillance), and Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird, The Guest, Zombiemania) for the project. Read more here.
Kendrick Lamar Explains Why Kobe Bryant Is Magical (Radio.com) Kendrick Lamar sat down with ESPN to shoot a 3-minute video recounting Kobe Bryant's storied basketball career. The video comes in preparation for the Los Angeles Laker's final game on Wednesday, April 13th.
"It's a trip to even be doing this right now," Lamar admits in the video's opening seconds, as he wraps his head around the fact that one of his favorites will soon be hanging up his jersey.
The video, titled "Fade to Black," was written by Scoop Jackson and performed by Lamar. "What can we say/ Day by day/ Season by season/ 20 to be exact," Lamar says with a rhythmic sensibility to his speech, as if he were delivering slam poetry, while footage of Bryant owning the court plays. "So I ask, how do empires last when there's no longer an emperor?" Lamar questions.
Lamar also lends a track from his Untitled Unmastered to serve as the background music, lending a cool, slick vibe to the entire tribute. Watch Lamar lay down why Bryant is "magical" here.
Charlize Theron Addresses 'Pretty People' Controversy (Extra) Monday night, Charlize Theron stunned in a Dior dress and Henry Winston diamonds on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie "The Huntsman: Winter's War," where she gushed over her baby girl August.
Charlize dedicated her MTV Movie Award to August over the weekend. She told "Extra's" Renee Bargh, "She's great, she's growing like a weed. It's, like, insane - it's unbelievable how quickly they become little people. I'm trying to hang on to my little baby, but she's just fighting right through that like, 'I'm ready to go.'"
Theron described the love between August and her older son Jackson as "a love that is unbelievable to watch." She emphasized, "I was an only child, and to watch that sibling relationship I feel like I'm watching something so sacred and beautiful. Like, he walks into a room and he doesn't even look at her and she just lights up and I'm, like, in front of her going crazy trying to get a reaction� It's so beautiful."
Speaking of love, when Renee asked if Charlize was a hopeless romantic, she responded, "I think that the older I've become, the more I've valued and realized there's so many different kinds of love. When we're young... young girls, we just think of the romantic kind. When you become a parent, the love you have for your children and you have a sisterhood around you, that love that you have from your girlfriends... there's so many different kinds of love."
Theron also addressed the backlash over her comments that pretty people don't get roles in a recent interview with GQ. She revealed that what she said is not what she meant, clarifying, "You know, I don't want to blame anybody, there is no blame, there was maybe just a huge misunderstanding and I've never really spoken in that way� The idea that I would ever say anything that made it sound like I was ungrateful for the career that I have today." Singled Out: Big City Brian Wright's Lonesome, On'ry and Mean Big City Brian Wright has released his debut album "Honkytonkitis" and to celebrate we asked him to tell us the story behind the single "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean". Here is the story:
I've never recorded a cover. But, I wanted to do one this first full length album. If I was ever gonna record one cover, this was it. "Lonesome On'ry And Mean" is my tribute to the late Waylon Jennings, written by an incredible songwriter, Steve Young ("Seven Bridges Road"). I was sitting in a '83 Jeep CJ-7 when I was 19 yrs old when I first heard Waylon's version.
It changed the world for me, musically, and signified the beginning of the "Outlaw Movement" in the 70s by Waylon & Willie Nelson and others. A period that I believe mirrors where we are now again in country music. Ironically, Steve Young was also born in my same small town of Newnan, Georgia.
When we cut this song, the band was having so much fun they actually played a whole two minutes extra in the studio. The music was so good, I couldn't edit it out. So, with the permission of Steve Young, I wrote another verse, the last one on here. It is a rebuttal to the direction of the copy cat attitude with big music labels.
If you have never liked country music, you will love "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean."
