Prince Tops Billboard Album Chart, Dominates Top 10

In the wake of his untimely death last week, Prince has topped the Billboard 200 Album Chart, dominating the top 10 with three albums and also scored a massive spike in song sales.

Prince claimed the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the album chart with 'The Very Best of Prince' coming in with 100K in actual album sales, and 'Purple Rain' with 63,000 in real album sales, according to Billboard.

When other metrics like streaming are added to numbers, the best of compilation had 179,000 in "equivalent album units' and "Purple Rain" had 69,000.

The triple album 'The Hits/The B-Sides' also hit the top 10 on the chart, landing at No. 6 with 41,000 total units and 24,000 in real sales. On the actual sales chart, the albums landed No. 1, 2 and 7.

His entire album catalog has sold 654,000 copies in the U.S. between April 15th and 24th, according to Nielsen Music (via Billboard. Individual song numbers are even more impressive coming in a 2.82 million downloads during that period.

Six of Prince's songs reentered the Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, with "Purple Rain" becoming the top selling song of the week, topping the digital song sales chart.

He also dominated the Top 20 on Hot Rock Songs Chart landing at No. 2 with "Purple Rain," No. 3. with "When Doves Cry," No. 4 with "Little Red Corvette," No. 12 with "Darling Nikki," and "Let's Go Crazy" at No. 16. here.

Drake Announces Summer Tour With Future, OVO Fest

Drake has announced his summer tour plans which include the Summer Sixteen North American tour featuring Future and his seventh annual OVO Fest in Toronto.

The summer tour will feature additional support from Roy Woods and DVSN and is set to kick off on July 20th in Austin, TX at the Frank Erwin Center and conclude on September 17th in Vancouver, BC at Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena.

Drake's OVO Festival is scheduled for July 29th thru August 1st beginning with the OVO Bounce party, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa headlining as part of their The High Road Tour and Drake bringing his Summer Sixteen tour to the event for two nights. See the tour dates here.

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Jams With Joan Jett

(Radio.com) After premiering his narrative film Geezer at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23rd, Green Day's frontman Billie Joe Armstrong put on a show at Spring Studios. Lo and behold, Joan Jett, who also appears in the film, made an appearance.

Jett only joined Armstrong for a little while. The two played a brief portion of Green Day's "American Idiot" before segueing into Jett's "Bad Reputation," which became the focus of her time onstage.

According to Billboard, Armstrong launched his set with one of the songs he composed for the film, "Devil's Kind." Geezer follows an aging punk rocker as he becomes more of a family man. He and Green Day's drummer Tre Cool along with guitarist Jesse Malin performed other songs from the band's oeuvre before Jett joined them onstage. Speaking about the band's bassist Mike Dirnt, who wasn't able to perform that night, Armstrong told the crowd, 'Mike's gonna be pissed." Check it out here.

Dolly Parton Announces North American Tour

Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced that she will be launching her biggest North American tour in over two decades this summer and has revealed most of the dates for the first leg.

The announced dates for Dolly's Pure & Simple Tour kick off on June 3rd at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. and wrap up on June 28th at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Two additional dates for the tour leg are still to be announced.

Parton is embarking on the tour in support of her 'Pure & Simple' double disc greatest hits collection and she plans to perform songs on the trek that she hasn't played live in decades.

The country icon plans to announce additional dates for the tour including her first Canadian trek in over twenty years. See the announced dates here.

MSTRKRFT Announce Summer Tour

MSTRKRFT have officially ended their five-year-hiatus. The Canadian electronic music producers have announced a short summer tour, following their return this spring.

The duo, comprised of Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P, made their return in March with the release of "Little Red Hen" and some live appearances at this year's SXSW festival in Austin.

They are now following up with the launch of a short North American tour of live dates and DJ sets that will be kicking off on June 1st in Washington, DC at the U Street Music Hall and concluding on June 11th in Los Angeles, CA at Exchange.

In addition to the live dates, the DJ dates will take place in Ottawa on June 3rd at the Ritual Nightclub and in Denver at Club Vinyl on June 8th. See the dates here.

Dierks Bentley Announces Memorial Day Somewhere On A Beach Bash

Country music star Dierks Bentley has announced his "Somewhere On A Beach Bash" which will be taking place on Memorial Day (May 30th) at the Spinnaker Beach Bar in Panama City Beach, FL.

Bentley had this to say about the event, "Memorial Day is the official kick off to summer, and this will be a great way to celebrate the current single and the new album. We'll pack as many people on the beach as we can�probably need to start icing the beer down now!"

The event comes just a few days after Bentley releases his new studio album "Black", which is set to hit stores on May 27th and features his hit single "Somewhere On A Beach".

Fans outside of Florida don't have to worry; you will have the chance to see Dierks across North America on his Somewhere On A Beach Tour which kicks off on May 12th in Holmdel, NJ and will also feature Randy Houser, Cam and Tucker Beathard. See the tour date here.

Tegan And Sara Announce North American Tour

Tegan and Sara have announced that they will be launching a North American tour this fall in support of their forthcoming album "Love You To Death," which is set to be released on June 3rd.

The pop duo will be kicking off the trek across the U.S. and Canada on September 9th at TCU Place in Saskatoon, SK and wrapping up the tour on November 16th in Fort Lauderdale, FL at the Revolution.

The new North American trek follows Tegan and Sara's intimate shows next month in Los Angeles (May 2nd and 3rd) and New York City (May 9th) and their tour dates in various cities across the world this summer.

98 Degrees, Ryan Cabrera, Dream & O-Town Announce Summer Tour

90s boy band 98 Degrees have announced that they will be hitting the road this summer for the MY2K Tour that will feature support from Dream, O-Town and Ryan Cabrera.

The tour will be getting underway on July 8th with a show at the Hartman Arena in Park City, KS and will conclude on August 28th in Saratoga, CA at The Mountain Winery.

Band Of Horses Announce New Album And World Tour Dates

Band of Horses have announced that they will be releasing their fifth studio album, entitled 'Why Are You OK', in June and they have released a stream of the first single "Casual Party."

The new album was produced by Jason Lytle and mixed by Dave Fridmann.

The band has also revealed plans to launch a world tour in support of the new effort. The trek is scheduled to kick off with a show on May 21st in Wilmington, DE at the Playhouse on Rodney Square.

Kenny Chesney And Miranda Lambert Duet At Tour Kickoff

(Radio.com) Kenny Chesney had a special treat for fans who attended the first stop on his Spread the Love Tour. He had his tourmate Miranda Lambert join him for a duet of his 2010 song "You and Tequila."

Originally sung by Chesney and Grace Potter, fans showed their approval of Miranda's performance with screams and applause. The male country superstar explained why he wanted Lambert on his Spread the Love Tour:

"Miranda was such an awesome addition in Chicago. When I was thinking about what I wanted to do this year, how to keep the energy we had and give the fans something truly great musically, she just made sense. Blake Shelton Joined By Randy Travis Onstage

(Radio.com) Blake Shelton brought a legend out onstage during his performance at the Off the Rails Country Music Festival in Frisco, Texas. Shelton performed on April 23rd, and used a moment during his set to thank one of the musicians he admires most.

Shelton lead Travis out onstage by the arm to raucous cheers from the crowd. "You tell me miracles can't happen, you're looking at one right here, man," Shelton said. "This guy walking out here tonight, this is one of my heroes, and it oughta be one of your heroes, man. Thank you so much for being here, Randy. We all love you."

Travis suffered a stroke in 2013, which impacted his ability to speak and walk. He has since stopped making as many public appearances, but he did attend the 2016 induction ceremony of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Jimmy Eat World Return Taylor Swift's Appreciation

(Radio.com) Jimmy Eat World and Taylor Swift are in the middle of a love-fest. After Taylor Swift lip synced her heart out to Jimmy Eat World for Apple Music, the band thanked her for the shout-out in a re-post of her Instagram video.

Three days after the band re-posted Swift's ad, lead singer Jimmy Adkins shared a TBT video of him playing 'The Middle" during one of her shows in his hometown of Mesa, Arizona. His caption reads:

"#TBT to the time -taylorswift invited me to 'sit in' at one of her shows in Arizona to play the middle. I made a joke at soundcheck about how rising from the middle of the arena in smoke and lights wouldn't help any more people know who this dude with a guitar was. She chose the bridge of the song to stop and get the crowd to make me blush. Yes, she is 100% that awesome of a person you suspect she is." Read more here.

Florence + the Machine Release Short Film 'The Odyssey'

(Radio.com) All of the cinematic music videos Florence + the Machine released last year as part of their album How Big, How Beautiful, How Blue have been stitched together to create the short film, The Odyssey.

Directed by Vincent Haycock, who also oversaw the music videos, The Odyssey includes new narrative segments to help move the videos along, as well as a concluding chapter titled 'Third Eye."

Florence Welch said of the project, 'This is the finale of a very personal project that came from a conversation me and Vince had in the Chateau Marmont about a year and a half ago while I was writing How Big How Blue How Beautiful. Kanye West Pulls A Kanye During Best Man's Speech At Wedding

(Radio.com) Few will forget the moment at the 2009 Video Music Awards when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to proclaim that the award should have gone to Beyonce.

And both Swift and West have benefited from the incident for seven years; it fueled West's troubled, manic mystique and helped Swift built her pop brand while steadily triumphing over haters.

Over the weekend, West referenced the episode once again at the wedding of David Grutman and Isabela Rangel in Miami. During the best man's speech, Kanye did a Kanye by grabbing the mic away from the speaker and announcing, "Jason, I'm-ma let you finish, but Davis and Isabela had one of the best weddings of all time."
