Arkells tells the story with direct lyrics, vibey percussion and hook-filled melodies. The video follows the band's journey from Memphis to Nashville, TN, capturing some of the highlights of each city. Drake's dad, a musician himself, looks pretty swanky in his suit and hat.

The video opens with the caption, 'The following is based on a true story." Arkells' new album, Morning Report, is scheduled for release August 5. Check out "Drake's Dad" here.

'The Land' Soundtrack Streaming Online

(Radio.com) After teasing listeners with cuts from Nas and Erykah Badu as well as Jeremih, The Land soundtrack is finally available to stream and purchase. French Montana, Kanye West and Nas lend their talents to "Figure It Out," a track that first appeared on Montana's Wave Gods mixtape (via Hip-Hop DX), while one of the film's stars Machine Gun Kelly contributes "Dopeman" and appears as a feature on Ezzy's track "Never Been Told."

The Land also stars Badu and Michael K. Williams, and hit theaters last Friday (July 29). It follows a group of Cleveland teenagers trying to break into the professional skateboarding world.

As for his own music, Nas has reportedly wrapped up his 12th studio album, but there is still no word when that will drop, reported Complex. In the four years that have passed since his last studio effort Life Is Good he seems to have turned at least some of his attention to the film world. Besides executive producing The Land, he has been working with director Baz Luhrmann on the music for upcoming Netflix series The Get Down. Jason Derulo Streams New Song 'Kiss The Sky'

(Radio.com) Excuse Jason Derulo while he kisses the sky. The 26-year-old Miami native has already amassed 11 platinum hits over the course of his career, so it's only natural that he'd want to pull those singles together on a new compilation album, Platinum. And he has included the new song "Kiss the Sky" along with the tracks most of his fans already know.

The upbeat song has a light funk feel to it thanks to the roving bass line and the way it starts and stops on the verses. "Cuz I believe we can fly now/ Spread your wings and kiss the sky," Derulo sings in falsetto on the chorus. In the bridge he borrows from a popular musical euphemism and sings about "funking" all the ladies.

"Kiss the Sky" will also appear in the new animated film Storks starring Jennifer Aniston and Andy Samberg. Storks will hit theaters September 23. Listen to "Kiss the Sky" here.

Kanye West Releases 'Wolves' Video

(Radio.com) Kanye West released his new video "Wolves" and he's depicted crying throughout the seven minute clip. The visual borrows from all the worlds West finds most interesting these days: himself, fashion, himself, his wife and, last but not least, himself.

In between shots of models navigating a kind-of catwalk in a darkened room, a close-up of West's face shows him crying. The emotion comes as he sings about how much he loves the song's unnamed "you" while the video cuts to Kim Kardashian wearing the sparkling Balmain gown she wore for the 2016 Met Gala. Throughout the video, West dons the elaborately bejeweled jean jacket he wore to the same event.

Eventually the models reflect West's emotion, crying as they continue to walk back and forth, and he moves among them. The video appears to coincide with Balmain's newest campaign. Two days ago, the Paris fashion house shared few black and white photographs of models crying, reported Stylecaster. Read more here.

Singled Out: Ted C Fox's Osteomancer

Ted C Fox recently released his new studio album entitled "A Gospel Of Dirt" and to celebrate we asked him to tell us the story behind the song "Osteomancer." Here is the story:

"Osteomancer" was inspired by a crush I had once. It was unique among crushes because, due to social circumstances I won't delineate here, I wasn't really able to talk to her or pursue her. In fact I knew very little about her. She was gorgeous and seemed sweet and kind and she was always crying. The crush was a painful one. I didn't really understand why there was pain associated with it nor why I was so fixated on this girl that was always crying. I began having dreams about her and in our dreams we were simply crying together but it was somehow a redemption. Like somehow through our shared sadness we were saving each other.

I thought it strange that my brain would impose my emotional salvation on a girl I knew so little about. It was like I had a skeleton and I'd invented all the rest of her and granted my invention the power to save me.

I came up with a vision of a crazed hermit stumbling across an old shallow grave, imparting mystical powers on the bones and using them as protective ornaments against the evils of the world. He turned some into necklaces and hung some in trees. The bones became his protection and his purpose. Reborn, he burns his church clothes and dances around it in a maniacal blaze of salvation.

An osteomancer is someone who practices divination using bones. I felt like that's what me and the crazy old hermit had been doing.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
