Paul Mccartney Reveals Audio Mojis For Valentines Day

(Radio.com) Paul McCartney has an interesting digital foray planned for this Valentine's Day. According to a press release McCartney and Skype have partnered to launch ten animated love themed Moji's featuring exclusive new McCartney music.

"It turned out to be a great laugh at the same time as challenging because you suddenly realize you've got to compress a musical interpretation of an expression into less than five seconds," said McCartney in a prepared statement.

"It was like doing a huge crossword puzzle and coming up with all these solutions. And at the same time it was musical so it was great practice for me in the studio."

"I wanted it to sound sort of electronic," he continues "so I wanted the signature to sound electronic rather than acoustic guitar, for instance. So I got the overall signature on the Moog in order to give it a modern flavor."

Check out the graphics, and a video illustrating the process here.

Father Blames Bruce Springsteen for Daughter's Tardiness

(Radio.com) Bruce Springsteen is known for his incredibly memorable and lengthy live shows, which usually clock in at about three-and-a-half hours. Anyone who's ever been to a Springsteen concert can testify that it's pretty hard to get up for work or school the next day. Well, a super cool dad in Albany, New York wrote an incredible letter to his daughter's school after she was late because the two went to a Springsteen concert on Monday (Feb. 8).

Patrick A. Papino deserves credit, not only for taking his daughter Isabelle to see The Boss, but for writing a letter to explain why the girl was late to school the next day.

According to Albany's Times Union, Papino wrote: 'Please excuse Isabelle's tardiness to school today. In the interest of honesty, I feel it my obligation to be straight with all of you as to the reason."

He explained, 'Last night Isabelle was lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in Albany, and darned if he didn't play for three and a half hours. This may not seem like a good excuse, but have you ever wondered how many kids would be late or miss school outright if God were to suddenly appear? It's something like that." Read Patrick A. Papino's full letter here.

Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman Talks 'Girl Crush'

(Radio.com) Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman told Radio.com that when she first heard the demo for "Girl Crush" (which was written by Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey) that she wondered what the song is actually about.

At first it seems to be about a girl who has a crush on another woman - which is still taboo in some circles. But it turns out that the narrator is obsessing about another woman because of jealousy; the "other" woman is with the man the narrator loves.

The members of the band, and presumably, much of the audience, hadn't heard of jealousy referenced in quite that way, in a song, or otherwise. "Girl Crush" topped the US Hot Country Songs chart and hit #18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Read more here.
