Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard Quits Social Media

Tyler Hubbard of the country music duo Florida Georgia Line has revealed that he is going "#backtothebasics" with the announcement that he is quitting social media.

Hubbard broke the news via Instagram with the following message for fans, "I've done a lot of thinking and praying about this for the last few days and I think it's time for me to take a break from social media indefinitely. I spend way to much of my valuable time worrying about my next post or how many comments or likes I got. Honestly it's a little ridiculous and I'm ready to get back to focusing all my attention on the things that really matter.

"I love my fans and promise I'm not gone forever but I'm taking some time to refocus on my relationships, the Lord, my marriage, my family, and my music. Maybe I'll even learn a new instrument instead of learning how to snap chat.

"I want to make sure that I'm living my life to the fullest and not worrying about making a highlight reel for the world to talk about or comparing my life to other peoples highlight reels. That's not what life is about. #backtothebasics"

Chance the Rapper Track 'Living Single' Leaks

(Radio.com) Someone got into Chance the Rapper's music vaults and leaked a previously unheard track that was reportedly intended for his latest album Coloring Book. Titled "Living Single," the track features Big Sean, Jeremih and Smino.

Produced by Cam O'bi, the track is the quintessential laid back jam with the most bare arrangements swirling around the steady beat. Jeremih's smooth auto tuned vocals give the chorus a slightly warped quality that ripples out to the verses.

Big Sean starts off "Living Single" with a verse about all the relationships that have come in and out of his life. "I know what it feel like to think you found the one/ Told Mom that so many times I'm sounding dumb/ Cuz she starting to mix Ashley up with Tineshia/ And saying 'Hi, Britney when I'm on the phone with Lisa," he raps before the beat stops entirely for a moment. Dierks Bentley and Elle King Release 'Different for Girls' Video

(Radio.com) Dierks Bentley's newest album Black contains not one but two big female features in the form of Elle King and rising star Maren Morris. On Wednesday (July 20), listeners were treated to the music video for one of those duets. Bentley and King debuted "Different for Girls," a video examining how men and women deal with a breakup.

Shot in black and white to give the video an added somber tone, "Different for Girls" finds Bentley playing a guitar and King playing a banjo while singing together. The video cuts between their performance and the video's narrative, which follows a man and woman after their split. The man heads to the bar where he starts pounding drinks and looking for a hookup while the women finds solace in her friends. "Different for Girls" lightly criticizes the emotionally restrained way men go about dealing with their feelings.

"It's different for girls when their hearts get broke/ They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and coke/ They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing/ They can't just switch it off every time they feel something," Bentley and King sing together on the chorus.

Things reach a powerful crescendo by the video's end when the man and woman switch places, and he ends up sad in bed (where she started) while she ends up at a bar celebrating with friends. Watch the video here.

Does Rick Rubin Prevent Taylor Swift's Ability to Sue Kanye West?

(Radio.com) Producer Rick Rubin may play a key role in Taylor Swift's ability to pursue legal action against Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, or not. In the latest chapter of the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian vs. Taylor Swift conflict, Kim Kardashian released a video of West on the phone with Taylor Swift. During the conversation, Swift is on speakerphone.

The conversation confirms that Swift did in fact know about Kanye's controversial verse on 'Famous," in which he raps 'I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b--- famous."

Swift responded to the video of the conversation being posted with an Instagram post pointing out that at no point in the conversation does Kanye use word "b---," the part of the lyric she takes offense to. She also accuses Kanye and Kim of "character assassination."

TMZ is reporting that Rubin can clearly be heard speaking during the conversation between West and Swift. The outlet also posits that members of West's crew who were filming can be heard in the background as well.

California law states that it's illegal to record a confidential communication. But that rule doesn't apply to conversations where another party clearly overhears the information being exchanged. Read more here.

Italian Composers Receiving Royalties For Prince Song

(Radio.com) Two Italian songwriters, Bruno Bergonzi and Michele Vicino are now officially receiving royalties for Prince's 1994 hit "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World," reported Billboard.

Italian collecting society SIAE are recognizing the duo as rightful composers following a lawsuit that was filed in 1995, in which the pair accused Prince of plagiarizing their 1983 song "Takin' Me to Paradise."

Prince's estate is currently barred from distributing "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" in Italy. In an interview with Billboard, Bergonzi explained the song's origins.

"The recording artist was Raynard. J, which was the pseudonym of Jay Rolandi, a session vocalist who also sang with the Italian disco group Firefly," he said. "The song wasn't a big hit, but it did appear on a number of compilations that were distributed internationally. It continues to re-appear in DJ remixes." Read more here.

Kesha Moving From Pop To 'Dirty Rock and Roll and Country'

(Radio.com) For years, Kesha's highest-profile project was her ongoing legal battle against producer Dr. Luke, a messy and protracted situation that limited her capacity to appear as a recording artist. In 2016, she's stepped outside that narrow lane with a lauded Billboard Awards performance, intimate Vegas dates, and a host of appearances in music hubs like Nashville, TN.

As Kesha gears up for an August tour, she says she plans to swerve from dance pop into "dirty rock & roll and country music," genres that have been very kind to her comeback efforts.

Kesha will hit the road as Kesha and the Creepies, a group project that could successfully distance its frontwoman from her previous image. With a renewed focus on interpretation and musicianship, expect to experience Kesha as you've never seen her before.

"Until I can release my own music I will be reinventing some of my old songs and some of my favorite songs from my musical idols," she wrote on Instagram. "I've hand-picked songs from artists that have helped shape who I am and the music I make today." Read more here.

Desiigner Previews New Track 'Timmy Turner'

(Radio.com) Fans who expected Desiigner's "Timmy Turner" to debut on Monday were likely disappointed when no finished track surfaced. Apparently, Desiigner is still perfecting the song with the help of producer Mike Dean on piano.

The rapper shared an Instagram video of the melody and some lyrics, but listeners will have to wait a little longer for the final edit. Both parts of the duo are affiliated with Kanye West's GOOD Music, which takes a "family" approach to writing, recording, producing and promoting its brand of hip-hop.

One thing Desiigner probably learned from Kanye? Making creative changes to new material at the eleventh hour. While you wait for the finished product, check out the teaser preview here.

Kelly Clarkson Jams Out to Justin Timberlake's 'Can't Stop the Feeling'

(Radio.com) Justin Timberlake created the can't-stop-moving groove of the summer when he released "Can't Stop the Feeling," and no one is feeling it more than Kelly Clarkson.

The newly signed Atlantic Records artist shared a brief video on Twitter showing her jamming out to the tune. In the video, Clarkson is having trouble not moving to Timberlake's catchy tune while she participates in a photo shoot. "Pumped 2 get back 2 work!" she wrote, explaining that the song perfectly encapsulated how she felt about working with Atlantic.

In late June, Clarkson shared that she had signed with Atlantic, a decision she praised at the time for the control it finally gave her over her music career. She had previously been with RCA Records after winning the first season of American Idol. Interestingly enough, Clarkson didn't go with a fellow Atlantic artist when she shared her happiness. Timberlake is currently signed to RCA.

It looks as though Clarkson continues to be thrilled about her decision to sign with her new record label. She said she would be working on a "soulful album" first followed possibly by other projects like a country album. Maybe there's even room for a collaboration with Timberlake in the future? Just throwing it out there. Check it out here.
