50 Cent Arrested For On Stage Profanity

(Radio.com) 50 Cent was arrested over the weekend after a performance in St. Kitts. According to Rolling Stone, during the rapper's set on Saturday (June 25) on the Caribbean island he cursed on stage while performing "P.I.M.P."

On the island of St. Kitts, there is a law that prohibits cursing on stage. 50 Cent allegedly knew about the law but still dropped a curse in the song. After his appearance, authorities came and charged 50 Cent with using explicit language in public.

In a statement released to Rolling Stone, the rapper's representative said since there were no clean versions of his tracks, profanity-laden were used. "[Curtis "50 Cent"] Jackson was only booked to host the show, when he arrived at the festival organizers asked him to perform, he obliged and used the DJ they had there," his representative told Rolling Stone. "Unfortunately, they didn't have the clean version to his tracks, so there were profanities used during his performance." Read more here.

Tom DeLonge Offers 'Bro-Date' To Blink-182's Travis Barker

(Radio.com) Tom DeLonge has publicly extended the olive branch to his former Blink-182 bandmate Travis Barker as only he can--in the form of a bro-date at a water park.

DeLonge tweeted at Barker requesting the two get together at a new and massive water park in Garden Grove, CA, located about half way between their respective homes in San Diego and Los Angeles. "Let's go to Great Wolf Lodge in OC and do water slides together and post it for fans.." said DeLonge.

Barker responded positively with, "Ha Ha, I'm in 100." The offer to meet comes just days after DeLonge took to Facebook to remind fans he hadn't actually quit the band. "I'm actually talking to Travis about us right now Never did quit, remember?" he said in a post last Tuesday (June 21). DeLonge's response appeared to be provoked by an article that stated he left the band to "focus on UFOs." Read more here.

Lock Of David Bowie's Hair Sells For $18,750

(Radio.com) A lock of David Bowie's hair sold for $18,750. Reports leading up to the auction anticipated that it would go for a few thousand dollars, but no one expected it to sell for five figures.

Heritage Auctions in Beverly Hills auctioned off two music-related pieces on Saturday (June 25). In addition to Bowie's hair, the company also sold Prince's iconic Yellow Cloud guitar for $137,500, Yahoo reported.

Garry Shrum, the director for the auction house's music memorabilia, said, "As celebrity stage-used instruments go, this piece is as unique as Beethoven's piano or John Coltrane's saxophone." Read more here.

Coldplay Play Bee Gees Classic With Barry Gibb

(Radio.com) Coldplay headlined Glastonbury over the weekend for the fourth time. Their set was a memorable one, too, as the band brought out Barry Gibb during the encore.

Before the special appearance frontman Chris Martin said they would take a song request from Instagram. Then, the stage screen projected a video of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis. In the clip, Eavis explained that people often ask him who he would love to play the festival and he responds most of his dream choices "are dead now." But he added that he has always wanted The Bee Gees to perform because they have "lovely songs."

"Michael, we can do one better," Martin said. "We can bring out an actual Bee Gee. Here comes Mr. Barry Gibb. Let's be respectful." The audience erupted into screams as Gibb walked out on the stage. Martin and Gibb covered "To Love Somebody" acoustically before the full band joined in for a performance of "Staying Alive". Read more here.

Shelton rewrote the lyrics to his 2014 song "Bringing Back the Sunshine" off his album by the same name. The upbeat song features a big anthemic chorus that is pure country through and through.

X Ambassadors Release 'Low Life' Video Staring Liev Schreiber

(Radio.com) Ever feel like sometimes your alcoholic beverages are judging you? That's kind of the idea X Ambassadors play off of in their new video for "Low Life" featuring A$AP Ferg and Jamie N Commons. The song appears on their latest album VHS 2.0.

X Ambassadors tapped none other than Ray Donovan himself aka Liev Schreiber himself to head the video's narrative. In it, Schreiber and others sit alone at a bar contemplating life. The band, A$AP Ferg and Jamie N Commons appear in various alcoholic beverages and "speak" to the low lifes drinking them.

As each talking head featured in the drink sings the lyrics, they give new meaning to the words: "I'm nothing but a low life/ Thinking about my own life/ I'm trying to fight the good own fight/ But after it all, I'm still just a low life."

The video would fit perfectly in an anti-drinking campaign. Watch it here.

Billy Joel Crashes Cover Band's Set

(Radio.com) When Long Islanders head to see a Billy Joel cover band, they likely keep expectations low: decent food, better-than-average piano playing, a voice that can adequately carry Joel's melodies.

What they probably don't expect is for the Piano Man himself to take the stage. But that's exactly what happened June 24 in Huntington, New York, on Joel's beloved Long Island.

The icon's set featured "You May be Right" and covers of songs by the Rolling Stones, the Beatles (via Joe Cocker) and Led Zeppelin. Joel shared the stage with Big Shot, a band that has long idolized and devoted their musical careers to bringing Joel's hits to life.

As shocked as the audience was, the surprise might not have been all that surprising to Joel obsessives. Guitarist and singer Mike DelGuidice, guitarist Tommy Byrnes and drummer Chuck Burgi are all members of Joel's touring group and are currently working as part of the backing band for his Madison Square Garden shows. Watch the Piano Man's set here.

Cradle Of Filth Recording Sidetracked By Child Ballet Dancers

(TeamRock Radio) Cradle Of Filth's Dani Filth admits the recording sessions for their 1995 album Dusk... And Her Embrace were regularly "brought to ground" because they shared the studio with child ballet dancers and Boy Scouts.

The album will be reissued next month to mark its 20th anniversary using the band's original tapes - which weren't used at the time due to a legal battle with Cradle Of Filth's label, Cacophonous Records.

Filth says of Birmingham's Zellar Studio: "It was owned by the guys in Magnum. It was actually half-studio, half-rendezvous for the Boy Scouts every Wednesday afternoon.

"There were also ballet lessons on Monday afternoons, so we had to stop making music. It was quite ironic really - the fact that this huge, epic black metal record was brought to ground by little girls in ballet shoes and their mums."

In the promo, the vocalist also recalls getting "horrendously drunk" with Venom frontman Cronos who was brought in as a guest on Haunted Shores Of Babylon. Read about the and watch the video here.

Killswitch Engage's Jesse Leach Shares His Escape

(TeamRock Radio) Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach says meeting and observing people while he and his bandmates are on tour helps inspire his songwriting. He previously admitted to being "weird and antisocial" in the early days of his career with the band - spending time alone rather than speaking to other people outside.

But Leach now says it's "fun" to get out of the tour bus and socialize with the general public. He tells German festival Rock Am Ring: "I'm all about just going away and escaping. If I'm in a nice city or there's a park nearby, I just go and get lost in the city. That's one of my favorite things to do on tour.

"I really enjoy going to a pub by myself and striking up a conversation with a stranger, making a new friend. That excites me. It's something that I use to help inspire me to write as well - just interacting or even just observing people in general. It's fun, people watching - going to a place and just sitting outside and watching people walk by. I love that kind of stuff." Read more here.

Jenny Hval Releases 'Female Vampire' Video

(Prog) Jenny Hval has released a video for her track Female Vampire. The song features on the Norwegian artist's upcoming album Blood Bitch, which will launch on September 30.

Hval says of the promo: "What does eternity feel like? How do you 'live' when there is no death? Usually, the vampire is depicted as a lonesome, all-knowing and ancient creature combining violence, aggressive sexuality and deceitful youth.

"The pack behind the video for Female Vampire wanted to explore vampiric eternity in a different narrative: in a group of romancing friends. The vampire friends move through their hometown of Oslo, partaking in public and private rituals of moving together.

"We also wanted to combine ideas from old vampire trash movies and modern trashy iPhone videos, resulting in an enigmatic world of time-lapse like slow motion where everything is always moving, or moving on. Not there, or not there yet." Watch the video here.
