Prince Reportedly Had Painkiller Percocet In His System

(Radio.com) The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that the painkiller Percocet was present in Prince's body when he was found dead April 21, citing a source familiar with the investigation.

The source stressed it still unclear whether the drug caused or contributed to death. On Wednesday, Radio.com reported the artist was set to begin a confidential emergency addiction treatment program. Prince's representatives contacted Dr. Howard Kornfield, a California doctor specializing in opioid addiction, in the hopes of helping the musician.

That same day the US Attorney's Office and the DEA joined the investigation, pledging to provide federal resources and expertise about prescription drug diversion.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office subsequently released a statement, clarifying that they have released no new information on the case and results are still pending. See their official statement here.

Rory Feek Gives First Interview Since Joey's Death

(Radio.com) Joey + Rory's Rory Feek sat down for his first interview since his wife and musical partner Joey's death. Joey passed away on March 4th after a battle with cervical cancer.

Throughout the process of recording their last album together, Hymns, Rory confessed how neither he nor Joey would let themselves consider it their final project. "No--we had unwavering hope, so we never really thought like that," he said. "We did shows every month, all the way through. I knew it was hard for her, but we always treated everything like, 'This is a season, and we're going to get better.' She kept wanting to sing, even when it was hard for her to get onstage. Not because she wanted to make money or get applause, but because she wanted to share her music" (via Billboard).

If listening to the music he made with his wife would seem painful, Rory has used it as a healing tool. "I'd say it brings me a lot of peace. I listen and watch everything--it's part of the process for me," he explained. "I don't want to hide from her, or her memory, or those feelings. I want to embrace them and keep her as close to me as possible." Rory shared how he and his daughter Indiana actually often start their morning by listening to Hymns. Read more here.

Captain America: Civil War Fueled By Al-J's Left Hand

(Radio.com) Walking out of the theater after watching Captain America: Civil War moviegoers are likely to have a tune stuck in their heads. The twangy indie-rock track is vaguely familiar but hard to place.

Alt-J's "Left Hand Free" is front-and-center during a pivotal scene during the film and plays again in its entirety during the credits, which you are strongly advised to sit through.

The song's lyrics appear to fit two of the film's main characters perfectly, although if we told you how it would be a huge spoiler. "Well, your left hand's free / And your right's in a grip / With another left hand / Watch his right hand slip / Towards his gun, oh, no." Check out the song here.

Singled Out: Camryn's Machines

Today, rising music star Camryn tells us about her latest single "Machines". At just 16-years-old she is turning heads with her style and musical approach. Here is the story:

"Machines" was the first song I have done that felt like it was completely me. I feel like I have discovered who I am and what music I want to make. The last time I released music I had a bubblegum pop sound and since then I've been experimenting in the studio trying to figure out what I wanted.

It wasn't until I started working on "Machines" that I felt like I was on the exact right path. Creating "Machines" was really fun, I was in the studio with my favorite producers Linney and Q, and they played me a track they had started. I remember thinking to myself, this is it.

I dove into the song and wrote the lyrics with inspiration from my career and my journey thus far. "Machines" is special to me because it's a milestone. This song expresses a new side of me, my music, and it's the beginning of what I hope is world domination.

Writing the lyrics was kind of tricky because I wanted to keep a machine-like element while also telling a story. Lines like "metal to skin, aluminum soul, you make the system overload" contain that 'machine' part but also explain a struggle, and help move the story along. I love how lyrics and music can be interpreted in so many different ways, because it makes it personal for whoever is listening. For me when I hear "Machines," I think of my determination and drive to succeed. To someone else, it may conjure up feelings of love and relationships.

I wanted the chorus to be strong, so that no matter what the song means to you the chorus would make you feel empowered and like you can accomplish anything. The phrase "and we do it like machines" means that you are going to do something in an indestructible way and nothing is going to stop you because you ARE a machine.

I was very meticulous about the production on the song. I think I sent it back 10 times saying "make the chorus bigger!" I really wanted to feel when the chorus hit and I wanted it to hit hard. Music makes me feel larger than life and I want to forever give my listeners that experience and desire to take over the world Who's with me?!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the video here and learn more about Camryn right here!
