Adopt an Artist
We have created the adopt an artist program so that we may ensure the widest
possible coverage for the world of rock. It's simple: You pick the artist
you wish to adopt and apply to cover that artist. Based on your sample
article you may be selected to offer coverage of that artist. So when something
happens with your artist that is news worthy, you submit a short article
to be published in the Day in Rock report.
We do have a few guidelines:
We are looking for original stories but the information has to come
from somewhere so also include a source in your story. e.g. "The
band said on their official website". or "according to [news source]."
You do not need to include all information about a story! Just the highlights
and major points are needed, we have a full story link for people to click
to get more information about a story. We try to keep stories limited to
two paragraphs. Sometimes more space is needed but you can usually cover
a lot of important information within that guideline.
Make sure it is news worthy. A band announcing a tour, CD, new
member etc. are news worthy. The band announcing that their video or song
has been added to a station, or their website is redesigned is not. (when
in doubt, if you are accepted, you can email our editor to make sure a
story will be published before you write it)
Please Press
Submit only once.
Submission of story does not guarantee acceptance into
the Adopt an Artist program or publication in the Day in Rock. Stories
and story excerpts remain the Copyrighted property of original publisher
and may not be reprinted or published without adherence to their reprint/publishing
guidelines where applicable. Original articles become the copyrighted property
of the iconoclast entertainment group.
