did have one strange moment when she launched into an unsolicited attack
on rocker Marilyn Manson outside court. "You know Marilyn Manson is saying
that I staged [her July 9 hospitalization]," she said. "Isn't that sick."

Van Halen Glitch Explained
BW&BK reports: As previously reported,
there are sound errors on VAN HALEN's new Best Of Both Worlds compilation.
The main notable error is the sudden halt of ‘Finish What You Started’.
Van Halen's website has posted a message from producer Glen Ballard who
discusses the track:
"There’s a great irony associated with
our choice to present 'Finish What Ya Started' in a way that belies the
title. We retrieved the analog master from the WB vault only to learn that
it needed to be treated or “cooked” to restore its ability to be reproduced
on the analog machine. The original two-track mix ends exactly as presented
on the new Best Of Both Worlds. In the first mastering of the record nearly
twenty years ago it was faded manually and that is the way it appears on
the original OU812. We literally decided to let it 'Finish' in its truly
original form, almost like a “director’s cut.”..." [see full story for

A Year Ago Today: Jack White
Gets Screwed
Day in Rock reports: [Here is one of the
Top stories from one year ago today in the Day in Rock - see the full story
link to read the full report from a year ago]Sorry, couldn’t resist that
headline.. now read the story from Undercover so you’ll understand:
White Stripes guitarist Jack White has
gone under the surgeons scalpel after breaking his finger in a car accident
and is now the proud owner of a shiny new screw to help mend him back to
action.
"A bone in the index finger of my fretting
hand was shattered in an automobile accident," Jack says in a message at
the band's website, "making it absolutely impossible to play guitar, especially
since I've been instructed by doctor's that there is no way I can move
my wrist until it is completely healed. The break did not heal properly,
and surgery had to be performed. Three screws were placed in my finger
to set the bones and insure complete recovery, three screws that will remain
in my hand for life"
… The White Stripes Livid Shows in Australia
in October are safe but all White Stripes shows until the middle of September
have been cancelled. "This includes the festivals in the British Isles,
T in the Park, Witness, Reading, and Leeds" Jack says. -
