Amy Lee Vs Velvet Revolver
Blabbermouth reports: EVANESCENCE frontwoman Amy Lee recently spoke to Kerrang! magazine about her band's massive success and the possibility of a solo career at some point down the line. Several excerpts from the interview follow:

Kerrang!: Have you become cynical about your peers?

Amy Lee: "No way, but theres just so many new bands out there and I'm not motivated to see a single damn one, and a lot of the bands worth listening to are old and tired now. VELVET REVOLVER...I haven't seen them play live yet but that album really bores me! Maybe there's one song that's cool, but to me it's just not worth building a supergroup around." Maybe Amy should catch them to find out what real live guitars sound like.

Motley Confusion
Blabbermouth reports: MÖTLEY CRÜE will apparently be staging a live performance at The Palladium in Hollywood, CA on Monday, December 6 following their press conference to announce a reunion tour by the group's original lineup, according to MajorRockEvent.com, a web site that appears to have been registered by the CRÜE's parent record company, Universal Music.

Earlier today, MÖTLEY CRÜE's manager at Tenth Street Entertainment told Billboard.com that talk that the group will be announcing a tour Monday (Dec. 6) at a press event on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, Calif., is premature.

"Anyone showing up at the Whisky on Monday will be with a bunch of other people holding a seance trying to will this thing to happen," MÖTLEY CRÜE manager Allen Kovac told Billboard.com. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Slayer Dis Machine Head
Blabbermouth reports: MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn has posted another installement in his online "diary" at the group's official web site. An excerpt from the entry follows:

"Played in Paris with SLIPKNOT and SLAYER. MASTODON opened the show, which was really cool.....

"Spoke with both Tom [Araya] and Jeff [Hanneman] for a while. Both were way cool as usual. Adam [Duce, MACHINE HEAD bassist] and I went into SLAYER's dressing room to talk with Kerry [King], who I hadn't seen or spoken to since our little spat began 2½ years ago... "At this point I decided, 'Hey, I'm gonna try and squash this thing officially, 'bring it up,' and kinda break the ice. So I went up to him a second time, extended my hand to shake and said, 'Hey man, so are we officially done?' He didn't shake my hand, just kinda knocked it, and replied sarcastically, 'Done with what?' I said, 'Done with our little spat,' he said, 'It was never a spat with me,' I said, 'Then shake my hand, and call it a day,' he gave me a smarmy look and said, 'No.' I said, 'You're not gonna shake my hand?', he pursed his lips, shook his head and said, '...No.' I just stood there for a few seconds, kinda like... what? I took a deep breath, exhaled, and was like 'Alright man, whatever...' I wished him safe travels, he said, 'Thanks...' I left the room.

FBI Question Goldfinger Singer
MuchMusic reports: Goldfinger frontman John Feldman recently had a little run-in with the FBI because of his affiliation with the animal rights group the Animal Liberation Front. Feldman is a huge supporter of animal rights and protests anytime and anywhere he gets a chance, but this time he got a little more than he bargained for. The ALF vandalized the home of Edward Greenwalt, who is in charge of L.A.'s animal shelters, and because Feldman and his wife attended a protest at his home two weeks prior, they were singled out for an FBI raid. Feldman was not charged with any wrong-doing. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

VH1 Train Wreck
MTV reports: Wednesday's VH1 Big in '04 awards show was a terrifying example of life imitating art, one that was dreadfully similar to "Saturday Night Live"'s "Train Wreck Awards" skit from a few weeks ago.

There was Michael Moore receiving a mix of cheers and boos while accepting the Big Boat Rocker Award, and comparing his political crusade to that of Rosa Parks, who refused to move to the back of bus 49 years ago this week. Kevin Coyne RIP
Launch reports: British singer-songwriter, painter, writer, and rock 'n' roller extraordinaire Kevin Coyne passed away today (December 2) at his home in Nuremberg, Germany. He was 60 years old. While Coyne remained a cult figure in the U.S., throughout Europe he was a revered, legendary, and--with more than 40 releases--wildly prolific artist. Coyne's music was rooted in the blues, but he used it as a jumping-off point to venture into nearly every genre imaginable, from sentimental love songs and full-on rockers to catchy pop songs and twisted ballads. Napster Act II
Reuters reports: Shawn Fanning, once reviled by record labels as the creator of renegade song-swap service Napster, on Thursday launched a new service designed to turn the threat of still popular peer-to-peer services into an opportunity for music companies and artists.

After registering music and copyright information in Snocap's database, labels and artists can manage online distribution through Snocap's copyright management system, which lets them set rules for each track on a global basis.

Fanning said Snocap, which received $10 million in funding, will expand the digital music market by giving authorized services the broad selection that makes peer-to-peer services popular. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Myspace Picks Jupiter Sunrise
press release reports: Current scientific thought on blinking states that we must do it every few seconds. So don't feel bad if every time you blink you miss the latest internet phenomenon. In your current blink Myspace.com now hosts special pages, not just for individuals, but for groups of individuals called "bands".

Myspace recently drew a big red heart around lovable California indie-rockers Jupiter Sunrise by sponsoring the band. As a result Myspace will run literally millions of ads related to Jupiter Sunrise and periodically place them in the coveted "Featured Band" section. If the internet becomes the new radio, as the current trend seems to indicate, then perhaps Jupiter Sunrise will be the first band to be broken by a website. History in the making? Billy Idol Scream'n Returns
press release reports: "Enough!" said Billy Idol,"2005 is the time for an original punk rocker to show his stuff." After taking himself out of the music business "to regenerate, get free of myself and make an album for the right reasons," Billy Idol has completed his first album featuring new songs in over 10 years, aptly titled DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND. The CD, which may or may not be named after a location deep inside the Idol mind, is scheduled for release on March 22, 2005, and is the English rocker's first for Sanctuary Records. The single, "Scream," is a down and dirty love romp featuring the sinister signature guitar of Steve Stevens and Idol's rock and roll holla in the familiar vain of "Rebel Yell." It will go to radio on January 3, with an impact date set for January 24. Widely credited as one of the critical artists responsible for the golden age of Music Television and an early disciple of the art of controversy on the small screen, Idol will attempt to reinvent the video art form by making one for "Scream," which will be completed early next year.
