Marine Kills Rocker
AP reports: Hundreds of fans turned out Tuesday in this Transylvanian city for the funeral of a Romanian rock star killed in a car accident involving a U.S. Marine, who has immunity from prosecution and later left the country.

Teofil Peter, a 50-year-old bass player with the popular Romanian band "Compact," died in the crash early Saturday.

Prime Minister Adrian Nastase appealed to President Bush on Tuesday to help bring the Marine to justice by waiving his immunity from prosecution. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Lohan Lip Sync
MTV reports: Lindsay Lohan had an Ashlee Simpson moment on Monday's "Good Morning America" for her live singing debut, which turned out to be not all that live. During her song "Rumors," Lohan missed the cue to mouth along, forcing cameras to cut away when her mouth remained closed as she was heard singing, thanks to a backing track. A spokesperson for the singer's label maintained that the actress sang live, and only used some background to help make the song sound like it does on her album, Speak, which hit stores Tuesday. - Click Here for the Full Story

Metallica Book Monster
MTV reports: The day filmmaker Joe Berlinger, co-creator of the documentary "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster," asked the band permission to write a book about his experience working on the movie, he wasn't even sure there would be a movie.

Not only does "Metallica: This Monster Lives" further chronicle the volatility of the creation of Metallica's St. Anger, it vividly recounts the excitement and uncertainty Berlinger experienced during the making of the movie.

In addition to addressing "Some Kind of Monster," "This Monster Lives" includes a brief bio of Berlinger, describing the other films he's made with Sinofsky and why Berlinger's only fictional Hollywood film, "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2," was a complete disaster. French Police Vs Metalers
Blabbermouth reports: ATROCITY and LEAVES' EYES have issued the following statement regarding a recent incident on the two group's joint European tour:

"After their grand finale show of the Atlantis Lovelorn Tour in La Locomotive, Paris, November 28, 2004, the bands experienced an arbitrary infringement by the French police.

"Right after crew and band had finished the loading of their bus in front of La Locomotive and the adjacent varieté Moulin Rouge, policemen appeared and told the bus driver to leave the street immediately. Due to traffic jam this was not possible at once. The policemen started to speak in a very aggressive tone that culminated in the threat of arresting the bus driver. Moreover, they took his papers away, thus Liv Kristine [LEAVES' EYES singer] and Alexander Krull [ATROCITY frontman, Liv's husband] complained about the rude behaviour of the police. Then, suddenly a bunch of policemen, some in civil dresses, rushed the bus and attacked the musicians. As a result of their action, Alex Krull was injured, as several policemen beat him and violently pulled him out of the bus and down to the grown. Also, Liv Kristine was thrown against the wall of the bus and was hurt, too. Without any explanations, Alex Krull was arrested, along with him bus driver Helge, the Dutch tour guide Harald and the German journalist Robert Suß who had only tried to calm the policemen and keep them from attacking Liv Kristine again.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

JEW Not Emo
Rockdirt reports: Fly magazine caught up with Jimmy Eat World drummer Zach Lind, who complained the band will always be identified as an emo band. "Every single mainstream press review that I see, there's always some really creative tag that they write, like 'emo kings' or 'the first emo band'," Lind sighed. "We never really considered ourselves an emo band, but there's people out there that do. We don't lose sleep over it. But I would prefer that journalists actually exercise their brain and come up with descriptions that people can identify with and relate to on a grand scale, but don't have to end up being a three-letter word. That would be fantastic."- Click Here for the Full Story
