Van Halen Reunion
BW&BK reports: As previously reported, BW&BK sources confirm that SAMMY HAGAR and the rest of VAN HALEN are currently locked away in a California studio. No word on whether they are recording a couple of tracks for the much talked about Best Of Vol. II or a full studio record. Another rumor surfaced today - the band is currently booking a summer tour and are rumored to have hand picked TESLA to be the opening band. Rush Justice Delay
Blabbermouth reports: Arraignment hearings for RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson (a.k.a. Alex Zivojinovich) and his son, Justin Zivojinovich, over a New Year's Eve arrest following an encounter with deputies in North Naples, Florida were continued Monday (Jan. 26) for two weeks, according to News-Press.com.

Assistant State Attorney Rich Montecalvo said he's still trying to decide what charges, if any, will be filed against the guitarist.

The hearings were delayed because he is still reviewing police reports and trying to decide whether to file formal charges against the father and son, Montecalvo said. He said he should make his decision by the time of the next hearings.

If prosecutors decide to file formal charges, trial dates will be scheduled for the defendants, Montecalvo said. - Click Here for the Full Story

Elvis For Sale
AP reports: A New Jersey company is offering Elvis Presley fans a chance to buy what it says is a slice of history.

And it really means a slice 2-inch snips of a tape reel featuring some of the King's earliest recordings.

"This is a piece of the history," said Tony Bongiovi, an engineer and record producer involved with trying to authenticate the reel. "Here's a chance to get something that nobody has."

On the reel are recordings of the first songs a then-unknown Presley put together in a studio in the early 1950s. They're known as the "Sun Sessions," a series of songs released by Sun records before Presley moved to a major label.

The reel is in bad condition and could barely be played. Copies have been made of what was recorded on it. Bongiovi said he doubted the original could be heard again without falling apart.

"Within the next 10 years, no matter what kind of technology is available, this tape will never, ever be able to be played," he said. - Click Here for the Full Story

Deep Tantric
Electric Basement reports: In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Electricbasement.com, TANTRIC guitarist/vocalist TODD WHITENER talked about the band's sophomore effort After We Go due out soon on Maverick Records. While 3 of the bandmembers used to play behind Travis Meeks in DAYS OF THE NEW, the band is still carving out its own identity in the press and public, "Yeah.(laughs) Well, we just took it for what it was and it didn't exactly get 'tiring' because we never really thought twice about it. We just knew in the beginning that was the way that it was going to be. Obviously it would be great that if eventually everyone saw it for what it is. I think that, over time, people will see that because we are all very focussed on what we do and I think that will show, especially with this album. We are all so very proud of this album and we had so much to write about. We dug a little deeper on this album, just going through so much over the last couple of years. So, I hope that the album will speak for itself and people will begin to recognize it for what it is and not for what it was.(laughs)."- Click Here for the Full Story

A new Creed CD is coming out?

Glassjaw Still Going
I Ate Your Microphone reports: Glassjaw's guitarist Justin Beck has issued a statement on behalf of the band denying any truth to the endless internet rumours which have recently been circulating regarding the band breaking up:

"...as far as glassjaw goes,,,,hmmmmmm i would say it is going, to me it is always going and going great. I work all day and write all night. Daryl is doing HA, and that is keeping him busy and in the mean time i am just writing, writing, writing. You know people get all caught up on the fact that gj members are all doing other things,,, but that is the way it has always been. When gj songs are composed they have always been composed entirely by one member on their own time, so if todd or dave where jerking off on jupiter it really wouldn't matter the same process would still continue and gj would still produce music. So if it takes a month more or another decade expect more of the gj. So chill out and drink a malted. dada. beck"- Click Here for the Full Story
