U2
Vs Darkness |
Herald Sun reports: AN ego-fuelled squabble
between one of rock's elder statesmen and a flashy young pretender has
broken out over a new recording to mark the 20th anniversary of the Band-Aid
charity concert.
U2's lead singer, Bono, and Justin Hawkins
of The Darkness are fighting over who sings the famous line in Do They
Know It's Christmas?
Hawkins sang "Well tonight thank God it's
them instead of you" -- originally sung by Bono.
But last night an angry Bono was on his
way to London to re-record the line. [see full story for more]-

MSG
Singer Attacked |
Blabbermouth reports: MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP
vocalist Chris Logan has posted the following message on his official web
site:
"I have had an absolute blast rocking with
each and every one of you over the past few weeks, and I very much appreciate
your support and good wishes.
"Unfortunately, there was an altercation
which took place after the show tonight (Nov. 14) (after a killer show
at Klubben in Stockholm, Sweden tonight, I might add). I was attacked twice
from behind by a member of our tour, who was too big a coward to face me
from the front. I was severely injured in the process, and I cannot continue
under the current conditions. [see full story for more]-

Gwar
Apologizes To Anselmo |
Blabbermouth reports: GWAR frontman Dave Brockie
(a.k.a. Oderus Ungurus) has issued an apology for his scathingly negative
comments about former PANTERA/current SUPERJOINT RITUAL singer Phil Anselmo
and his girlfriend Kate. Brockie's statement, as sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET
by Adrenaline PR, reads as follows:
"I want everybody to know that this past
weekend I personally apologized to both Phil and Kate for the erroneous,
vicious, and inflammatory remarks recently made by myself. That shit about
Phil trying to score dope on the bus happened at least eight years ago
and is ancient history. Kate has always been just our friend and never
anything more (though she hates me now, I'm sure). The only reason I vomited
forth such crap is because I felt my band was under attack. Since talking
to Phil over the weekend I realize that, too, was bullshit. I was goaded
by the press and lashed out in anger, falling totally into a trap. In doing
so, I hurt some people I really love and respect.[see full story for more]-
