Weiland Throws Fit At Record
Store
Rockdirt reports: The People reports that
Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland freaked out while at a CD signing

N' Roses," but no mention of Weiland's old band, Stone Temple Pilots. Weiland
demanded the sticker be peeled off all stock and the band asked for non-alcoholic
beer and fresh fruit at the appearance. - Click

Runaways Movie
Billboard/Reuters reports: Child exploitation,
band infighting and broken dreams are all explored in the documentary "Edgeplay:
A Film About the Runaways."
Much has been said about pioneering all-female
rock band the Runaways, but "Edgeplay" is the first time the group's story,
told from the perspective of former members, has been caught on film.
"Edgeplay" has screened at several festivals
this year, including the London Film Festival and the Don't Knock the Rock
Film & Music Festival in Los Angeles. There are no theatrical release
plans for "Edgeplay," but Image Entertainment will release the movie on
DVD in January. [see full story for a lot more details]-

Jacko Admits Payoffs
AP reports: Michael Jackson, facing child-molestation
allegations, acknowledged he has reached financial settlements with people
in the past to avoid the embarrassment of going to court, but added he
would never harm a child.
The six-paragraph statement was released
hours before "Dateline NBC" broadcast a lengthy report alleging that the
entertainer paid $2 million to the son of an employee at his Neverland
Ranch in 1990 to avoid a child-molestation accusation.
"I have spent my entire life helping millions
of children across the world. I would never harm a child. It is unfortunate
that some individuals have seen fit to come forward and make a complaint
that is completely false," Jackson said Friday. [see full story for more]-

Darkness Supergroup
Xfm reports: Xfm can reveal that plans
are underway to create a supergroup featuring Justin Hawkins from The Darkness,
Tim Wheeler from Ash and disco funk sex pest Har Mar Superstar.
Speaking exclusively to Xfm, Ash bassist
Mark Hamilton explained that the new outfit is set to be called White Slave
and – while lacking a full complement of players – Ash frontman Tim Wheeler
is already enthusiastic about the idea.
“Tim’s been talking with Justin and Har
Mar about putting together this new band called White Slave,” Hamilton
explained, “Har Mar’s gonna sing and Tim and Justin are gonna be duelling
guitarists. They’re still trying to find a drummer at the minute, as well
as a bass player. Would I do it? Nah, it all sounds a bit Spinal Tap for
me. [see full story for more] - Click

Blood Brothers Set Crimes
for Rocktober
press release reports: The Blood Brothers
- “Crimes” - Release Date 10/12
“Recorded in the backwoods of Seattle with
producer John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney), Crimes is sonically
arresting and charged with intent. It’s also the perfect fix for a dopesick
rock scene jonesing for nostalgia and schmaltz. Whether they’re aping a
not-too-distant past in a 3-car garage or earnestly tugging at young girls’
heartstrings, an alarming number of bands these days seem content to run
in place - but not The Blood Brothers.” [see full story for preview the

A message from Har Mar Superstar
press release reports: Har Mar Superstar
is back with his new album entitled ‘The Handler’ on 9/14.
“This is the album I've been attempting
to make my whole life. The Handler chronicles all of the high highs and
low lows of the last two years of growing up more or less publicly. Every
detail is there for a reason, and I've never laid so much out bare. My
goal was to make a more human record that hits everywhere from the joys
of being on top, to the harrowing loneliness of the same place. Just as
importantly, I think the album is a whole lot of fun, which is something
a lot of musicians seem to be having a lot of trouble with lately. Some
people wait their whole lives to feel this good about something. I'm lucky
it happened by the age of 26. I hope you enjoy The Handler. It's gonna
be huge.” Har Mar Superstar- Click
