Jacko
Payoff |
AP reports: In a halting, emotion-choked voice,
the son of Michael Jackson's former housekeeper testified Monday that the
pop star molested him during a tickling game in 1990.
The 24-year-old man was called to the stand
as prosecutors in the current molestation case against Jackson began trying
to show the jury that the singer has a habit of molesting boys.
The witness said that over a span of several
years, Jackson twice touched his groin over his clothes during tickling
games at Jackson's Los Angeles-area condominium, which he and his mother
referred to as "the hideaway." He said that in a third incident, Jackson
reached under his clothes at his Neverland ranch. [see full story for more]-

Christian
Tool |
Day in Rock reports: One of our readers sent
this over. The following message (posted 3/31) appears on the official
Tool website: You know the old saying, "no news is good news", well that
was the case as far as the recording process was going for the new Tool
CD, but now things may have changed a bit. Yesterday, when I went to the
studio to give Maynard a bottle of wine (a 1992 Maya) for winning the bet
that I had with him involving his new film "Sleeping Dogs Lie" (I lost
by default, not being able to attend the Sedona screening), not only wasn't
Maynard there, but, in what seems to be a case of enantiodromia (something
becoming its opposite) if ever there was one (!), I was told the reason
why he wasn't there. I wish this post was dated April 1, but, unfortunately,
it isn't. Like a doctor giving a patient a straight, honest answer to a
medical diagnosis, without sugar-coating the truth, here's exactly what
I was told: "Maynard has found Jesus." This will come as a complete shock
to most (but not all) of you, as it did to me. In fact, it just seemed
like another MJK prank until I talked to the one person who I believe would
know if all this was legit or not. After nearly an hour on the phone with
this person, the answer I received was that Maynard has indeed "found Jesus"
and that, for this reason, he's abandoned the project for the time being,
if not entirely. I don't know what the f**k is in the water these days,
but hopefully a black jelly belly will turn up in that golden bowl that's
all I can think to say at this point. Before leaving the studio, I watched
as Danny made arrangements to go play some golf, while Adam and Justin
kept working on a particular song. So, in case you missed it (those who
don't read the whole post), here's today's news: Maynard has found Jesus

Layne
& Kurt |
antiMusic reports: [Trent McMartin sent this
over and we are posting it in remembrance of Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain
on the anniversary of their passing] In the early 1990's grunge rock was
king and bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam,
and Stone Temple Pilots ruled the charts.
Some say the decisive blow to grunge was
the suicide of its hesitant spokesman Kurt Cobain who died almost eleven
years ago on April 5, 1994. With each passing anniversary Cobain's legacy
grows stronger no matter how bizarre and outlandish Courtney Love's exploits
have become.
April 5th can also be remembered for another
tragedy that occurred eight years to the day after Cobain ended his life
and almost three years ago from the present day.
On April 5th 2002, Layne Staley former
member of grunge pioneers Alice in Chains and singer for super grunge group
Mad Season, passed away of a drug overdose. His personage was not that
of Cobain's but in the early and mid 90's, Alice in Chains rivaled any
alternative rock band in sales and critical acclaim. [see full story for

Greatest
Guitar Recordings of All Time |
press release reports: Everybody does 100
- so why not do 200? Guitar One magazine has put together the definitive
guide to Greatest Guitar Recordings of All Time for their May issue, due
on newsstands tomorrow (April 5). Along with his devoted team of editors,
Guitar One's editor-in-chief Troy Nelson broke the list down into ten distinct
genres, classic rock, modern rock, metal, soul, jazz, blues, country, acoustic,
shred and instrumental.
Included with every album listed in this
21 page spread is an obscure fast fact about the band/artist, such as Jimi
Hendrix's US tour with the Monkees and after Chuck Berry did time for armed
robbery, he became a hairdresser! Guitar One also has artists from each
genre give their Top 10 picks. Slash from Guns N' Roses picked Aerosmith's
Live Bootleg as his number one record of all time.

this journal from the band who are currently rockin' the troops in Kuwait"Hey
everybody, hello again from th middle east...today we got to play at Camp
Arifjan right outside of Kuwait City....the facility here is very modern

care of tons of stuff but mostly all the trucking of supplies...We were
lucky enough to meet Col. Brick T. Miller commander of all the forces in
Kuwait...Col. Miller presented to us an award for coming over here and
let us know how much they appreciated us coming over here...it got up to
120 degrees today, thats like being a roast in a crockpot...we were also
in our first sandstorm, if you want to know what that is like take a blowdryer
point it toward you face and throw some sand in there...good times...the
show was great and the soldiers rocked it....it is so cool to try out our
new music on these guys and girls and everybody is having a great time...tomorrow
