Jello
Vs Idol |
punkbands reports: Footage sent to Alternative
Tentacles by angry fans confirms Dead Kennedys' version of "Viva Las Vegas"
was used by Fox TV in the January 26, 2005 episode of "American Idol."
"Bleech!" said Jello Biafra, "first Levi's,
now this. What strain of corporate herpes will be allowed to foul Dead
Kennedys next? I could understand 'Too Drunk to Fuck' as a new 'O'Reilly
Factor' theme, but this is really nauseating. Even 'Police Truck''s lyrics
as the background music to 'Cops' would be more fitting justice than this.
What really makes me sick about shows like
this and expecially 'Extreme Makeover' is how they encourage teens to grow
up plastic Barbie and Ken conformists instead of solid subversive citizens.

Jesus
Tool |
MTV reports: [More on this story from yesterday.
MTV has this update. be sure to click the full story link to read it all]Has
Maynard James Keenan, the frontman of both the dark, heavy-metal art band
Tool and the somewhat lighter A Perfect Circle, found Jesus and been born
again? Well ...
Recent postings on two Tool Web sites —
one of them purportedly by
Keenan himself — contend that the singer
has found religion and has left Tool. Could this really be? On Tuesday
afternoon (April 5), MTV News' Kurt Loder e-mailed Keenan for confirmation,
and this is what he e-mailed back: "I did, in fact, find Jesus. More news
to follow. God bless ya."
Keenan's letter to fan site toolshed.down.net
explains that "some recent events have led me to the rediscovery of Jesus"
and that "Tool will need to take the back seat."[see full story for more]-

Jacko
Shower |
MTV reports: A young man who claims Michael
Jackson molested him in the early 1990s continued his testimony on Tuesday,
with his mother also taking the stand to deliver yet another bombshell
— that she'd witnessed the singer taking a shower with pop choreographer
Wade Robson when he was a young boy.
Blanca Francia, a former housekeeper who
worked for five years at Neverland Ranch and Jackson's other homes, testified
that while she never saw any evidence of molestation involving her son,
she became worried about him once she started witnessing inappropriate
behavior involving Jackson and other young boys. [see full story for more]-

Appeal |
Blabbermouth reports: Launch Radio Networks
is reporting that Ted Nugent plans to appeal last week's court victory
in Michigan. A jury ruled that the Muskegon Summer Celebration must pay
Nugent $100,000 for breaching a contract in June of 2003, with $80,000
for the contracted fee and $20,000 for missed merchandise sales. However,
Nugent's camp, which sought $1 million, is complaining that Circuit Court
Judge Timothy G. Hicks erred by putting a cap on the maximum award Nugent
can receive. They will also base their appeal on the fact that Hicks is
a former law partner of Christopher Kelly, a Muskegon attorney who is a
board member of the Muskegon Summer Celebration. [see full story for more]-

Wakefield
in May |
press release reports: Wakefield are back
with a brand new album entitled, "Which Side Are You On?" Their new album
is scheduled for release on May 17th, through Jive Records.
Wakefield's "Which Side Are You On?" is
the sound of a band maturing, fast. Where some bands go on tour, this one
went to school. Between hearing the Beatles inspired "C'mon Baby," which
changes time signatures between the chorus and verses but still manages
to be as hooky as a tackle box, or the smart riffs and layered harmonies
of "Quietly Complaining," you'd be forgiven for wondering if this really
is the same band that debuted with the buoyant pop-punk of American Made
not long ago, in 2003.[see full story for more]- Click

rock quartet from the ancient San Manuel Indian Reservation in California,
recently released its debut CD ‘Stoned Council’ on Voodoo Nation/AGU Music.

in for good measure, Dog Faced Gods’ debut effort is a mature and eclectic
album which stands out among today’s young rock acts.
The band has started mapping out a tour
