Madison Paige Seek New Blood
press release reports: MADISON PAIGE, who have made a name for themselves with their unique blend of arena rock influences and modern sensibilities, have officially parted ways with guitarist Damon Valley and bassist Will Arkosy. All parties are describing the split, which is being attributed to "musical differences," as "extremely amicable." Drummer Richie Rivera, who remains in the band along with singer Paul Caroul, elaborates:

"It's always tough saying goodbye, but luckily in our case we'll never have to. While our professional relationship has come to an end, we remain great friends, which is ultimately more important that any band could ever be. We're just traveling on two separate musical paths, neither one less valid than the other. Paul and I are throwing 110% of our support toward all their future musical endeavors, while we continue to make the kind of high-quality melodic hard rock that we originally set out to do. The end result will be that audiences will get two better bands out of the deal; so everybody wins!"[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Stooges Reissues
press release reports: The Stooges' provocative mix of aggressive nihilism and primal rhythms scared the hell out of America when the Detroit quartet-led by the legendary Iggy Pop-careened onto the music scene in 1969. The few brave souls who didn't flee in terror from the sound were lucky witnesses to the dawning of punk rock. Rhino Records pays tribute to the band with deluxe editions of the proto-punk trailblazer's THE STOOGES and the group's classic follow-up, FUN HOUSE.

Each expanded and remastered two-disc set includes the original album along with a bonus disc filled with rarities and unissued tracks. Both sets are available August 16 at regular retail outlets and at www.rhino.com for a suggested list price of $19.98.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Warren Zevon Tribute
press release reports: Wampus Multimedia introduces Hurry Home Early: the Songs of Warren Zevon. Featuring 13 Zevon classics interpreted by emerging artists from the U.S. and England, Hurry Home Early focuses on Zevon's contribution to literate, modern songcraft, and tracks his 35-year journey as acerbic troubadour and cynical romantic.

Hurry Home Early traces Zevon's career from the late 1960s until his untimely death from mesothelioma, an inoperable lung cancer, in 2003. From Phil Cody's "Splendid Isolation" to Robb Johnson's "Suzie Lightning," the CD tells the story of an artist torn between hopeful and dark impulses, locked in a struggle between heart and mind. From Tom Flannery's "Boom Boom Mancini" to Neil Luckett's "Mutineer," it explores the emotional interior of a composer who has been called the Hunter S. Thompson of audio journalism.
