Rotten Bashes Bono & Geldof
Gigwise reports: The ex-Sex Pistol anarchist, who has hardly spoken in public in the last eighteent months, finally opened his trap and did some serious slagging off today. Lydon is pissed off with old chum Bob Geldof for hinting that the Pistols would be playing Live 8: "Our names were touted around. And it looks like we turned it down. But the truth is I wasn't asked."

"I don't know what shock value he was trying to get by mentioning us. But I'm glad. It was a very shoddy and weak production anywayAnd there weren't enough black faces in the show for my liking. I don't think it achieved anything. Bob Geldof is too self-serving."

He added to the Sun newspaper: "I don't like this attitude of trying to guilt us into doing something. That's the terror tactics of the Nazi party."

Continuing: "Every time I see Bono in those big fly glasses and tight leather pants I just can't hack it. I can't see that as solving the world's problems."

"He's crushing his testicles in tight trousers for world peace." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Cheap Stones
Day in Rock reports: It appears that Mick and Keef want every last cent they can get their hands on. The band has gone so far as to charge their opening acts for tickets for their friends and family. This according to Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace who recently spoke with Erick Bieger of Circle 6 Magazine about a variety of topics. Below is just an excerpt of the extended conversation about the Stones need for more cash (to be fair they did offer a discount for nose bleed seats and they let the band look at Keff's amp).

JT: And we've got some family members that wanna come to the show. They [The Rolling Stones] are charging us $200 to anything...they don't even have guest lists.

DC: Yeah, we have a 30 person guest list. But we just found out that the 30 person guest list is they reserve you 30 tickets that you can buy for 200 Canadian dollars ($155 US).

JT: One show. 75,000 people are going to be at this show. That's what...$15 million dollars or something like that. We just want, ya know, maybe 10 tickets for some friends. (Imitating Mick Jagger) "I'm sorry lads. That's not going to happen on this tour."

C6M: Were they at least good seats?

JT: They're in the middle! You can't even see Mick!

DC: It'll be cool. The coolest thing about playing with the Stones in the past...well, we didn't meet them so that wasn't so cool but the coolest thing was that the guitar tech let us come up and look at Keith's tweed amps. The old, old, old school (I forget what year it is) feather-tweed amps, first year it was made and the serial number 2 and serial number 3.
