Texas
Vs Sony |
tinfoil.music reports: The Texas attorney
general said on Wednesday that he added a new claim to a lawsuit charging
Sony BMG Music Entertainment with violating the state's laws on deceptive

New
Sugababe |
hecklerspray reports: Only yesterday, The
Sugababes announced that Mutya Buena had left the group after seven beautiful
years of looking all grumpy in photos and mumbling answers in interviews.
It took all of a day to find a replacement
for Mutya. And the brand new Sugababe - Amelle Berrabah - seems to fit
the Sugababes bill perfectly: she's a bit funny-looking and she isn't really
smiling in the new group photo. Ah, it's like Mutya never left.[see full

God
Not Avenged |
Blabbermouth reports: Launch Radio Networks
reports: With the holidays here and the so-called "War On Christmas" in
the news, religion is always a hot topic at this time of year. AVENGED
SEVENFOLD includes a number of religious references in its music, even
taking its name from a passage in the Bible. But frontman M. Shadows told
Launch that the band doesn't have any messages about God, or the Devil
for that matter. "Anyone that read the lyrics and really knew anything
about us, they would know we're not promoting either," he said. "That's
one thing about this band that I love is that we never really shove any
kind of, like, political or religious beliefs on people. We just, the music's
there to entertain and maybe thought-provoking on both sides, but we don't
try to, like, really shove anything down anyone's throat. There's too many
bands that do that nowadays, I think."[see full story for more]-

Mike
Peters fighting Cancer |
Day in Rock reports: Mike Peters (The Alarm)
posted the following message on the group's homepage this week: Hello my
friends,
I hope you are all enjoying the best of
times as the holiday season approaches.
I have some very difficult news to share
with you. Last Thursday on the 8th December, I was diagnosed as having
cancer. I have been told by my consultant, Dr. E that I have Chronic Lymphocytic
Leukemia (CLL). The good news is that although my illness is not curable,
it is treatable and, in the words of Dr. E, it is a disease I will probably
die with, rather than of.
I want to reassure all of you that I will
be fighting this fight with every ounce of energy I can muster. I have
my wife Jules, and son Dylan beside me and they are reason enough to live
for. They have both been incredible.[see full story link for the entire

to pick up pedestrians around the city who were trying to make it to work
over the past three days.[We may bust on Jay-Z here at DiR from time to
time but this was a pretty damn cool thing for him to do. Now click the
