Contact Music reports: A convicted murderer was arrested yesterday (27DEC05) for attempting to extort $1 million (GBP550,000) from celebrity couple MARC ANTHONY and JENNIFER LOPEZ in exchange for their 2004 wedding video.

Glitter Payoff?
AP reports: HANOI, Vietnam - Former rock star Gary Glitter paid $4,000 to ensure the cooperation in his legal case of the families of Vietnamese girls he is accused of sexually abusing.

Glitter, who won fame as a flamboyant glam rocker in the 1970s, gave $2,000 each to the families of two girls, ages 11 and 12, after they agreed to write letters to the court asking that the case be dropped, lawyer Le Thanh Kinh said Wednesday.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Blige Tops Chart
Reuters reports: Despite slow sales throughout the holiday season, the week leading up to Christmas saw a retail burst led by new releases from Mary J. Blige and Jamie Foxx.

US CD Sales Down
AP reports: U.S. album sales were down about 7 percent as 2005 drew to a close, but the budding market for music downloads, which more than doubled over last year, helped narrow the revenue gap, according to figures released Wednesday.[see

Blabbermouth reports: Legendary Greek death metallers ROTTING CHRIST have announced two live shows in the city of Larissa, Greece which will be recorded for their first live release. The pioneers of the Greek metal scene will put on two special two-hour shows featuring songs covering their entire catalog. Birth of Grunge
Blabbermouth reports: IGN Music reports: On February 7, 2006 Livewire Recordings will release "Sleepless In Seattle: The Birth of Grunge", a compilation of 20 rare recordings from some of the band responsible for setting the stage for the eventual emergence of the sub-genre of modern rock critics labeled "grunge."
