"With some of the four or five-hour therapy
sessions we went through — which have been poked fun at, and I appreciate

Mustaine
Magamad |
Megadeth.com reports: One of regular readers
tipped us off to this one. On Monday, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth posted
a message on his website about some online polls that showed people preferred
previous line-ups of the band. Dave jumped to their defense but then things
turned more heated and Mustaine posted a follow up message today. Read
on…
" Just for clarification... this is my
site. You are offending my boys. Now you tell me you don't agree with me
defending my guys? Bye-bye! There will be plenty of vacation time for you
to think about it. And while you're at it, get in a band and once you have
accomplished what these guys have and then have people talk garbage about
you, then, and only then will I consider your opinion.
This place is one of the best places in
all of cyberspace. You know why? Because we are fair, we treat people right,
we tolerate a myriad of BS.
I am fed up with this and it is over. You
don't like it? Go someplace else. And you will go someplace else because
you will be banned immediately if you have a problem with how I feel about
the incessant insults from pukes who don't know these guys, who have never
seen them live, and ARE TOO FRIGGING STUPID TO KNOW THAT I WAS HERE TO
SEE WHAT THESE OTHER GUYS DID AND YOU WERE NOT!
No one is without guilt and you of all
people should know that I copped to making mistakes over the years, but
I will not put up with this crap.
End of story. I can just shut the whole
site down, I don't give a shit! [see full story for more --- if the site

Roky
Erickson Retrospect |
Special Ops reports: Roky Erickson’s I Have
Always Been Here Before: The Roky Erickson Anthology, the new two-CD career
testimonial of one of the most brilliant minds in contemporary rock, hitting
stores March 1st. Shout! Factory has assembled 45 songs from his repertoire,
spanning 30 years (1965-1995), making I Have Always Been Here Before the
only comprehensive collection of Roky Erickson’s work to date.
Sometimes credited with creating psychedelic
music, Roky Erickson’s first band, the 13th Floor Elevators, stunned audiences
with their concerts during the mid-1960s. Shortly after the 1966 release
of their hit single, “You’re Gonna Miss Me,” Roky entered the Hospital
for the Criminally Insane in Rusk, TX under an insanity plea for a minor
drug arrest. After three years at the hospital, Roky’s life was irreparably
altered. In a tragic twist of irony, his psychological change brought a
new level of creative brilliance to his work, and his psychedelic, lyrically
fantastic music became a bird’s eye view into his new life.[see full story
