Paul Pugh, 39, pleaded guilty to twisting off the head of the Senegal parrot during a row with his wife. He was banned from keeping an animal for the rest of his life.
District Judge Shamim Qureshi said: "The parrot had no chance of fleeing.
"You proceeded to kill the bird in front of your wife and child and it was a disgusting incident for anyone to witness. This has all the hallmarks of pop stars on stage. You are what might be described as the Ozzy Osbourne of Wolverhampton for the way you have treated this bird." [see full story for more]
