. (andPOP) Nominations for the VMAs were announced today by MTV, along with all the over-the-top details for the ceremony, hosted this year by P. Diddy.

Green Day leads the nominees pack with eight nods in total, including Video of the Year, Best Group Video, and Viewer's Choice for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams;" while "American Idiot" is in the running for Best Art Direction.
