Hailing from a city known for its hip-hop heroes, LAPUSH is making their way onto the scene quietly and with a subtlety lost on most up-and-coming rock bands. Having already drawn comparisons to British rockers Oasis, Keane and The Verve both in their composition and passionate arrangements, LAPUSH is a band of three local musicians who aren't trying to be anything they're not.[see full story for a 5 song sampler]- Click Here for the Full Story

Junior Varsity Release Wide Eyed
Victory Records reports: The Junior Varsity has long been known for their dogged determination in the face of adversity and it is finally paying off. Their Victory Record's debut, Wide Eyed, will be in stores on July 12th and the band intends to tour non-stop to celebrate. A pop record with pristine production and a pronounced prog influence, Wide Eyed was produced by Matt Squire at SOMD! Studios in Bethesda, Maryland. Their recording session was interrupted by several burglaries of The Junior Varsity's vehicle and a trip to the U.K. with Straylight Run that ran afoul of Byzantine immigration policies. "The last attempted robbery was when some a**holes backed a U-Haul truck up to the studio door and broke in at 1am with plans to ransack the place," remembers keyboard player Nick, "luckily we defused the situation and they took off. It was hard to keep out minds completely on our goal of making a great record with stuff like this happening, but somehow nobody was really affected by it. We understood that all we have is this band and making the album was one of the most important things we've done in our lives."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
