Radiohead
Decline Live 8 |
Contact Music reports: Acclaimed rockers RADIOHEAD
have turned down the chance to perform at the London LIVE 8 concert on
2 July (05), because they are busy enjoying their time away from the music
business.
Despite being a prominent campaigner for
Third World issues, singer THOM YORKE insists the CREEP hitmakers are too
"spread out" to join COLDPLAY, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and U2 on the star-studded
charity bill. [see full story for more] - Click

along with Madness and The Specials. Bonus features include Exclusive Interviews,

Jacknife
Release |
Chipster PR reports: "We don't have any gimmicks,
we just get up there and play," says vocalist Joe Ortiz of Jacknife. Hailing
from Dallas, TX, Jacknife's sound can best be described as "Texas style
brutality" and the band wastes no time showing listeners why they are the
future of extreme music from the Lone Star state. To call their brand of
musical destruction "metalcore" would be an understatement; Jacknife blends
the best elements of the metal and hardcore genres seamlessly on their
full length debut album Moment Of Reckoning, which is set for release on
August 16th, 2005 on Zero-Sum Recordings.[see full story for more]-

Eleni
Mandell Single |
conqueroo reports: Fresh on the heels of the
controversy surrounding Carl's Jr.'s latest television ad campaign featuring
a soaped-up scantily-clad Paris Hilton, Santa Monica-based independent
record label HUM Recordings, a division of HUM Music, today announced plans
to release a full-length version of Cole Porter's classic "I Love Paris"
as sung by indie rocker Eleni Mandell. The song will be available on Wednesday,
June 6 exclusively on iTunes.
The new version of the song, sung by Mandell
and arranged by HUM's Rob Lopez, has generated significant buzz among consumers.
The response has been so overwhelming that the song has taken on a life
of its own, prompting HUM Recordings to draft plans for an immediate commercial
release. [see full story for more]- Click
