Pink
Floyd Reunite For Live 8 |
antiMusic reports: The Pink Floyd camp has
put to rest rumors that they will reunite. The band including Roger Waters,
Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright will join each other on stage
for the first time in almost 20 years at the London leg of Live 8 at Hyde
Park on July 2nd, according to the BBC.
"Like most people I want to do everything
I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief
of poverty and increased aid to the third world," said Dave Gilmour.
"Any squabbles Roger and the band have
had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this
concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile," he added.
Madonna, REM, U2, Paul McCartney, Sir Elton
John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams are also scheduled to appear at Hyde
Park. See the full story link for the BBC story. - Click

Roadie
Aid |
AP reports: Charlie Barreca is too sick to
rock 'n' roll, but too young to die. The longtime sound man for the heavy
metal group Twisted Sister, Barreca needs a liver transplant, but has nothing
left from the money he made traveling around the world, making sure every
dirty word that flew from Dee Snider's lips was heard clearly.
So the band has planned a benefit show
on July 15 at The Electric Factory in Philadelphia, hoping to raise at
least $100,000 for Barreca's medical costs. [see full story for more]-
