Royal Honors For Queen

(BW&BK/AP) Veteran rockers JIMMY PAGE, BRIAN MAY, MIDGE URE and JOHN MAYALL are on Queen Elizabeth's birthday honours list. For at least two of the honourees, it marked a big step up in recognition since March, when the Queen encountered Page and May at a Buckingham Palace reception and asked, 'What do you do?'

May, the guitarist with rock group QUEEN, was being made a commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE, for services to the music industry. He played a prominent role three years ago in celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Queen's coronation, playing God Save the Queen from the roof of Buckingham Palace.
