Coldplay Match Beatles
Xfm reports: Incredibly, Coldplay have become the first British band since The Beatles (way back in 1968) to have a new single debut in the United States Billboard Top Ten.

Surprisingly, the last time a British band entered the US Billboard chart in the Top 10, was 37 years ago when The Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ went in at number ten. Despite having a plethora of number one singles, the track was the only one of The Beatles’ releases ever to go straight into the Top 10.

Now Coldplay have shattered that record, with their new single ‘Speed of Sound’ which looks as if it will enter the chart at Number 8. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Arms of Kismet Release
press release reports: arms of kismet CD hits today

If Arms of Kismet's 2004 debut, Eponymous was a heartfelt affirmation, the brand new Cutting Room Rug is its prankster twin, fusing parodic rants with tragic laments in a playful cocktail of satire and sincerity. From the mischievous "Clover" to the ominous "Coil," the new CD is a dark joyride, careening from track to track like a condemned man in a funhouse. Its inhabitants can only cry at weddings, can only laugh at funerals.

Fans of postmodern popsters like Beck, The Flaming Lips, and The Postal Service will find a kindred spirit in Arms of Kismet. Cutting Room Rug forsakes pimpin' and rides for pointed salvos wrapped as sweet confections.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Howie Goes Gold
Epic reports: STOP ALL THE WORLD NOW, the sophomore album from Epic recording artist Howie Day, has been certified gold by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000 units. A year and a half after its release, the album is not only surviving, it's thriving and has made remarkable gains over the course of the past few months. Making WORLD go round is smash hit single "Collide," which is currently in the top 10 on Billboard's Top 40 Chart and blanketing the airwaves.

Interestingly enough, this time last year, the album, originally released in fall of 2003, seemed to have run its course. After seven months and two singles, weekly sales were in the low thousands and airplay was minimal. In fact, during one week last May the record had bottomed out, selling just over 900 copies. Meanwhile, Day, who averages 250 shows per year, continued touring, regularly playing to packed-house crowds filled with diehard followers. But toward the end of 2004, a funny thing happened. Just as the Maine native was thinking of getting off the road and back in the studio, one by one stations across the country started playing "Collide," a sweeping pop song with a mile-wide chorus and irresistible charm. This past November, the song was featured in its entirety on the hit WB show "One Tree Hill" and sales jumped 73%.They've been climbing ever since. - Click Here for the Full Story

Transcendence Release
press release reports: The ever-experimental rock stalwarts Transcendence have turned the tables again and released a stunning new album entitled Nothing Is Cohesive. Coming off of last year's harder-edged modern rock manifesto Sleep With You, which yielded the hit singles "Superhero Girl" and "Minnie Driver", Nothing Is Cohesive is the band's third release and may be their best to date. Lead singer Ed Hale and company continue to draw influences from the classic rock and pop sounds of the 60s through 90s while employing modern day studio techniques and production to give their music a sparkle and alternative flair most indie bands strive for, but rarely attain.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
