Linkin Snub

Audio Aggression reports: Linkin Park guitarist and spokesman Brad Delson shot down any chance of negotations between Warner Music Group and Linkin Park recently. WMG actually asked the band to play at the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the company's IPO. That request, said Delson, "just exemplifies how out of touch the ownership of the Warner Music Group is with our band. KC Falls Off Stage

AP reports: For KC of KC and the Sunshine Band, falling off the stage during a concert is definitely not the way he likes it. Uh huh, uh huh.

KC, whose real name is Wayne Casey, took a headfirst fall off a 6-foot-high stage while performing Saturday at the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Phoenix. Drunk Halen Killed Reunion

BW&BK reports: Last year's VAN HALEN reunion tour thrilled fans around North America, but things were not quite as euphoric inside the band. Bassist Michael Anthony told Launch that guitarist Eddie Van Halen's continued drinking made things a bit erratic and seems to have halted plans for future touring.

"I hate to talk smack about anyone in the band or whatever, but, y'know, Eddie, you know, he's still doing a bit of drinking and everything," he said. "There were nights where it was kind of like a rollercoaster, up or down, and myself, I would have liked to have seen him totally clean up if we were gonna take this further and, like, 'cause, gosh, we could've gone all around the world with it." CKY Vs Megadeth

Blabbermouth reports: CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller has slammed MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine for threatening to cancel any shows where "full-on Satanic" bands are also scheduled to appear. In a statement sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Miller wrote, "reading that ROTTING CHRIST has to cancel shows because of Dave Mustaine's recent and absurdly sudden Christianity is one of the most obviously ridiculous dramatic newslines in music. This from the guy that wrote 'Wake Up Dead'.

Contact Music reports: Heavy rockers SLIPKNOT have slashed the competition for the 2005 annual readers' poll in rock magazine REVOLVER by claiming the major four prizes.

The hardcore nine-piece claimed Best Band, Best Album (VOL 3: THE SUBLIMINAL VERSES), Best Live Act and Best Song (DUALITY), while GOOD CHARLOTTE finished bottom of the pile, with dishonours as Worst Band and Worst Album (THE CHRONICLES OF LIFE + DEATH). Aversion reports: It's not even Memorial Day yet, but Brian Wilson is already dreaming of a white Christmas.

After recording a handful of Christmas songs with The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson has laid down the tracks for his first solo holiday album. The album, What I Really Want for Christmas is scheduled for an Oct. 18 release, so you’ll be able to treat trick-or-treaters to some new Wilson tunes. Blabbermouth reports: Launch Radio Networks reports: According to Trent Reznor, it won't be another six years before another NINE INCH NAILS album surfaces. In a forum on the band's official web site where Reznor and other members answer fan questions, a person named Lindsay asked, "You've talked about another album being released relatively soon. Can you tell us anything about it? Will it be a 'sister' album to 'With Teeth'...? Will it sound similar to 'With Teeth'?" No New Sabbath

BW&BK reports: OZZY OSBOURNE has assured cynical critics the newly reformed BLACK SABBATH will steer clear of the recording studio, unless they write a batch of tunes on a par with their rock classics.

The charismatic singer - who is touring with the band this summer (05) - is aware a new disc of "half-assed" Sabbath songs will leave music journalists in no doubt they're only back together to make easy money. However, Osbourne insists if the songwriting skills that launched them to prominence in the 1970s are still there, they may have another album to add to their discography. NME reports: FRANZ FERDINAND fans are petitioning online for the return of singer ALEX KAPRANOS’s fringe.

A statement from ’The Undersigned’ on www.petitiononline.com/ reads: “If you aware of the Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand, you may also be aware of their lead singer's late fringe. The fringe of Alexander Kapranos symbolised a great many things to his fans - freedom, truth, beauty, justice - and he also had to push it attractively out of his eyes in order to see. We liked that.

”However, it has come to our attention that the much beloved fringe of Mr Kapranos has been cruelly taken from his forehead, to be replaced with a haircut that enables him to see. Simple Plan Get MADD

Punkbands reports: According to this MTV article Simple Plan's somber video for their song "Untitled" has been embraced by fans and program directors alike, having captured the #1 spot on Thursday's edition of "TRL." And "Simple Plan contacted us, because of how personal the song was to them. And I think it's great how committed they are to the cause." — MADD's Steve Emerich now they're getting props from a somewhat unlikely source.
