(Rockdirt) Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has issued the following statement: "Lately I have felt an increasing need to set the record straight since false information and gross distortions continue to get proliferated through the media in many forms by dishonest and disingenuous writers/journalists who are supported by their publications. It is not a crusade for the truth, it is a realization that the neo-tabloidism sells magazines, but also...wrecks marriages...wrecks families...wrecks careers...wrecks lives!!!"
"Yeah, there is probably some writer, critic or journarazzi that's saying to himself or among others, 'Oh, poor rock stars, oh, poor celebrities.' Well, fu** off! Does doing what I love to do give you a right to put a bull's eye on my 'back?' Does is give you the right to make it open season on anyone of notoriety? If you're a motherfu**er and you still answer yes what about about the ones that really suffer from your selfish lies and deceit, the children, the wives, the parents, and the friends!? That can not be justified...period. [see

Stop whining, Scotty. There's at least a million bands who wish the friggin press would give a rat's arse about them. Granted, it must suck in a way, but isn't playing music about hoping someone will hear it? The press are just doing their stupid jobs, isn't it the people who demand such BS all-inclusive coverage of their favorite bands? I know where to draw the line - I like to read anything a band has to say about how the make the music, what they feel the music should mean, how the band got together, and stuff like that. I don't need to kow about the band's personal lives though, that should be personal. It's like when Courtney the devil bitch published Kurt's journals, do you really think I would buy such a thing? Hell no, that was Kurt's personal ish, and I sure as ish ain't giving Courtney money to read stuff that I was never meant to read.
