Working Class Covers
Special Ops reports: Shooting to international superstardom with 1981’s release Working Class Dog, (which sprung the classic single “Jessie’s Girl”), Rick Springfield has remained a music-obsessed workaholic throughout the span of his thirty plus year entertainment career. His latest album The Day After Yesterday finds Springfield revisiting some of the tracks that influenced his style such as Mister Mister’s “Broken Wings” (with original vocalist Richard Page), 10CC’s “I’m Not in Love”, and The Dream Academy’s “Life in a Northern Town”, as well as an original song titled “Cry”. Springfield explains, “I've always wanted to record these songs; they have been favorites of mine for a long time. They are songs I wish I'd written. I wanted to be faithful to the originals but still treat them a little differently and also give them the benefit of the new technology. Plus, I wanted to see if it would be easier and less painful doing a CD of songs I hadn't written...and it was.”[see full story for news about Rick returning to General Hospital]- Click Here for the Full Story

Steve Wynn's Miracle
Sky Media reports: Steve Wynn and his band The Miracle 3 are set to release their new album, “…tick…tick…tick,” on January 31st, 2006. The album is the third in a trilogy of releases to be recorded at Wavelab Studios in Tucson, Arizona, with Craig Schumacher (Giant Sand, Calexico) co-producing. For Dream Syndicate frontman Wynn and his Miracle 3 (Linda Pitmon on drums, Dave DeCastro on bass, Jason Victor on guitar), ten days spent in the desert created an album that Wynn calls: “louder, harder, sicker, freakier, more hopped up on goofballs than what we had done before.” The album is being released on Wynn’s own Down There label, with distribution via RedEye.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Howie Day Live EP
Epic reports: Epic Records has announced a December 6th release date for LIVE FROM..., the new concert EP from acclaimed singer-songwriter Howie Day. The seven-song disc was recorded in various parts of the country this past summer, when Day was touring in support of his gold-selling sophomore album STOP ALL THE WORLD NOW.

Bayside Nick Statement
Victory reports: I'm laying here in the hospital, awaiting my surgery tomorrow. To clear up any questions, I broke my back ( L4 vertebrae ). I'm very lucky to not be paralyzed. I was thrown through the window of our rolling van, after hitting a patch of ice. I have a full torso cast on, keeping my back straight. I just started eating again so now I can take some percoset which helps with my intense back pain. All in all, Ill be ok and the minute I can have a bass in my hand and be playing in front of people again I will. It’s all I know how to do and the only thing that makes me happy.

Once hearing about all of the support from friends, bands and fans, my spirits where immediately uplifted. All we have in this world are each other, and in times of tragedy, you find out who is by your side until the end and who is bullshit. Thankfully our music community surrounds us by mostly heartfelt people who are going out of their way to help us in our time of need and to help us keep our dream alive.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Fleetwood Box
Press Release reports: While Fleetwood Mac is best known to pop music fans for their soft rock hits, it's their early work before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joined the group that is often heralded as their most important and influential. On November 1st, Sanctuary Records will release a 3-CD box set of this era, Men of The World - The Early Years, capturing the band's blues period of the late 1960s and their recordings with legendary guitarist Peter Green.

Men of The World - The Early Years revists Fleetwood Mac's legacy from 1968 through 1970. While the first disc concentrates on their early blues and R&B roots; disc two contains some of their more experimental, neo-psychedelic work studio work, in particular the sessions for the Then Play On album; disc three offers up some of the blistering live performances the band were legendary for. Several of these live tracks are taken from the celebrated Live In Boston gigs, which are considered by many to be the apex of Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green's career. All songs have been digitally remastered, and the extensive liner notes were written by Fleetwood Mac historian Neil Mr. Blues" Slaven.[Clapton is God...
