Diecast
AWOL |
Metal News reports: Boston-based metallers
DIECAST have been forced to drop off the U.S. tour with AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE,
INDEX CASE and BLEED THE SKY following the apparent departure of drummer
Jason Costa. The band have issued the following statement on the matter:
"To our fans and friends: We apologize
for dropping off the AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE tour. AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE, INDEX
CASE and BLEED THE SKY were the best tourmates that we could have asked
for. The tour was going amazingly and our fans came out in force to support
us. We even made the best of the only dud of a show in Cleveland by closing
the bar. Together with the rest of our tourmates a few old friends and
Matt and Kevin from CHIMAIRA, we nearly drank the place dry. The problem
came the next day on a day off we had in Nashville. We (Kirk, Jeremy, Paul
and Jon) aren't really sure what happened. It all started with an argument
about Brendan Fraser's acting skills, (mature, huh?) and ended with a valued
member of the DIECAST family (Jason) sneaking off onto a bus in the middle
of the night without explanation or warning. Needless to say we are all
devastated, saddened and disappointed. We always considered Jason to be
one of the nicest guys in the band and obviously an amazing musician, phenomenal
drummer and most importantly a friend.[see full story for more]-

System
of a Used? |
punkbands reports: Bert McCracken, singer
of Utah screamo act The Used, has gone into some detail regarding the sideproject
he is currently working on alongside members of S.T.U.N, theSTART and Circus
Minor. The idea behind the project – Street Drum Corps - is to use as few
proper percussion instruments as possible, and instead use several household
objects and garbage cans for drums.
As well as the aforementioned band members
jumping on board, McCracken told MTV.com he was hoping several other big
names would be involved. “Hopefully Daryl Palumbo from Glassjaw will be
on it, hopefully DJ Shadow is going to jump on it too. Daron [Malakian]
from System of a Down said he's going to do a track,” McCracken explains.[see

Bad
Mitzvah |
Punkbands reports: Nothing says "Bad Religion"
like a yarmulke from Brett Gurewitz's 1975 Bar Mitzvah. Yup, 100% genuine
and original and perhaps his most ironic listing of the year. Listening
to the How Could Hell Be Any Worse? LP with this cap on is truly divine

Disillusion
in 06 |
Metal Blade reports: It is about time. Since
February, Disillusion has been working on their second full length record
at their Salvation Recording studio in Leipzig. They are now very close
to finishing the song writing process. As already presumed months ago:
the new record will not be a follow-up to BACK TO TIMES OF SPLENDOR - that
is for sure. No fields, but motorways, where once were woods now concrete
reigns. What then was orange is set ablaze. For all that, the new songs
are much more Disillusion than ever before. The band is also looking forward
to soon leaving BTTOS behind them, most of all live. Despite the constant
attempts to shrink the monolithic material to a live-3-piece, it simply
will not get any better.
Recordings of the new record will probably
begin in February - where and how they will be done, will be decided soon.
A first, very careful and temporary plan predicts May / June 2006 for release
date of the record.[see full story for more]- Click

Korny
Video |
Virgin reports: For a song that's called "Twisted
Transistor," KORN knew they had to come up with a visualization that was
mind-blowing, epic and unforgettable--something that would stretch the
boundaries of music videos in the same way that the band have pioneered
a unique brand of heavy music. For example, KORN pondered: should they
even appear in the video? Should the video be restricted by the time length
of the song? And was there any reason not to alternate between performance
footage and concept scenes without music?
Creatively teaming with director Dave Meyers,
KORN made good on their promise to shake up the music video format with
the seven-and-a-half-minute visual extravaganza for "Twisted Transistor,"
the first single from KORN's forthcoming SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE album.
Due out December 6 via a global partnership with EMI/Virgin Records, the
album was produced by JONATHAN DAVIS along with The Matrix and Atticus
Ross.[see full story to check it out] - Click
