2 Live Crew Vs Jay-Z

AP reports: A former member of 2 Live Crew has filed suit against rappers Ice-T and Jay-Z, claiming he is entitled to royalties for a song made famous by Jay-Z as part of his top-selling "The Black Album."

In a filing Monday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, Marquis Ross claims he wrote lyrics and a beat similar to those featured in the chorus of the song "99 Problems," which eventually was copyrighted by Jay-Z.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

punkbands reports: In what could be one of the more unusual pairings in recent memory, Fall Out Boy is planning to enlist the aid of 90s R&B superstar Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds to produce the follow up to Under the Cork Tree. The album has, to date, sold more than a million copies.

Deicide Metal Murder TV

Earache reports: Deicide frontman Glen Benton will feature in an hour long BBC documentary called Death Metal Murders (part of the acclaimed This World series) which explores link between Heavy Metal music (specifically Death & Black Metal) and Satanism & murder.

The show will air at 9pm (GMT), Thursday 24th November on BBC2. Of the young heavy metal fans in this picture, three are now dead; four are on trial charged with murder; one is serving 19 years; two more of their friends are serving long prison sentences. They were called the Beasts of Satan and their story has gripped Italy for more than a year. Kayos reports: Eagle Rock Entertainment, the leading independent source for high quality music audio/visual programming, will release Duke Ellington: Love You Madly/ A Concert of Sacred Music at Grace Cathedral. Now available on DVD for the first time ever are these two Emmy-nominated programs from director Ralph J. Gleason: a 1967 documentary that explores the life and legacy of Ellington, perhaps the greatest single American composer, and the September 1965 debut of Ellington’s Concert of Sacred Music at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral, a program of music that spanned his then 50-year career.

Ellington considered the Concert of Sacred Music “the most important statement (the) orchestra had ever done.” Footage of the concert has been long sought after by Ellington enthusiasts and jazz fans in general. He is also slated to be a presenter on the 33rd Annual "American Music Awards," airing live on November 22nd.
