Indie Night School Podcasting
AudibleTreats reports: Following 5 sold-out sessions and a write-up in the New York Times, it's become increasingly more difficult to get into a session of Indie Night School. So, in the spirit of community and free access to information, Indie Night School is now available anywhere & anytime as an audio podcast.

INS is a music conference series that deals with all the many aspects of running a band professionally, independently, successfully, and ethically. The panels give people the chance to meet decision-makers who run the music industry, ask them down-to-earth questions, and receive straightforward answers. Each session seeks to explicate a different aspect of the music industry, such as how the A&R process works, how to find (or become) a band manager, how to get online and print publicity, and how to find legal representation.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Buckwheat Aid
conqueroo reports: One of Louisiana's leading musical ambassadors, Buckwheat Zydeco, is joining with many others to keep the sounds of Louisiana alive and help their neighbors back home as the band participates in a number of major hurricane relief benefit concerts and broadcasts in the next days and weeks.

Completing a nationwide five month tour in support of Buckwheat Zydeco's new album, Jackpot! (Tomorrow Recordings), Buck and the band had hoped to get home to their families after a Labor Day appearance, ironically, at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival (a bumbershoot is an umbrella). But instead of a well deserved respite at home, Buckwheat Zydeco will head first for Nashville and then New York City -- which will virtually become a New Orleans in exile for at least a couple of weeks in September.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
