Queen Snubs Idol?
Launch reports: After Queen appeared on this past Tuesday's episode of American Idol to coach the remaining eight contestants--who all sang Queen songs this week, with varying degrees of success--many assumed the band would perform on Wednesday's results show, as this season's previous coaches (Stevie Wonder, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers) have done. So when Queen was a no-show last night (in their place, viewers got a Queen medley performed by the finalists), some fans jumped to the conclusion that the band had bailed because they were displeased with how their songs were performed (some would say mangled) by the contestants. Flea Sees Red
Contact Music reports: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bassist FLEA snapped and hurled insults at a journalist during an interview yesterday (12APR06). The rocker lost his temper when the reporter repeatedly quizzed him about a reported rift with bandmate JOHN FRUSCIANTE. Flea writes on his blog, "I was talking to this man and he kept asking me about (a past interview) where I said that there was a lot of tension between John and I on the last record. I answered the questions and tried to explain how sometimes things are hard but then they can get better. But he kept talking about the part that was hard and I thought he didn't care about the part that comes next, the liberation and rebirth that made it better than ever. ..I started getting angry and next thing I know I started yelling and seeing red and I threw my bottle against the wall and hurled insults at him and stormed out of the room. "First of all, I would like to thank everyone who called or sent notes of congratulations about the news of my baby. I am so proud.

"Secondly, the baby is a hoax. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Payola Is Fine?
FMQB reports: Entercom Communications has moved for dismissal of Eliot Spitzer's lawsuit filed against the company last month over payola allegations, making them the first radio ownership group to fight back against the New York Attorney General's war on alleged impropriety in the music industry.

...The company's lawyers argue that for the suit to have merit, Spitzer must prove that consumers were harmed by deception on Entercom's behalf. The lawyers say that no one was harmed, because terrestrial radio is a free medium.[no one is hurt except credible artist that can't purchase airplay and listeners that are force fed crap. see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Simpson Sued
hecklerspray reports: Jessica Simpson is sometimes unfairly maligned. After all, it can't be too easy to be 25 with a tattered marriage, a string of rubbish films, an overtly masculine face and a lawsuit for $100 million, can it?

That last one's new. Jessica Simpson is being sued for $100 million by the Tarrant Apparel Group (TAG) for not really promoting any of the clothes she co-designed with the company very well. $100 million? That means one thing and one thing only - should Jessica Simpson lose the lawsuit against TAG, her financial situation will leave her with no choice but to make a string of ridiculously sh*t films. So no change there, then.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
